  • kyber changed the title to [REQUEST] Registry setting to hide a specific tray icon

In Windows 10 or 11 you can

Right-click on the taskbar

Choose *Taskbar Settings

Scroll down to Notification Area

Click>Select which icons appear on the taskbar or Turn system Icons on or off

I hope this helps!

Note:

If you wish to permanently remove an icon from systray

You generally need to remove the app from Windows startup folder or Windows registry

If so, there are several locations in the Windows registry to look at

Please let me know

The windows11 built in system tray icon ON/OFF does that.

If you want to use third-party app then look at this ....

Eusing Taskbar Hide 3.1

Taskbar Hide 3.2 from developer site

I want to hide the VNC Server Tray Icon, but the server should be running in background.

is it possible without any third party app (by a registry setting)
