downloaded, installed and working..

however..

i'm trying to convert a X264 compressed video.. same everything except the encoder to X265.. the so called better compression codec.. and no matter where i put the bar aka low quality to high quality.. do i get an estimate anywhere near the orginial x264 filesize..

x264 video.. 1.67gb.

according to the program..

Hevc aka X265.. will be low 2.49gb and High would be 5.95gb..

same frame size, same frame per minute, everything the same except the codec used.. why double the size?

nothing to do with the app.. it was the video.. reason it would be bigger.. its was highly compressed and the hevc settings in videoproc where lower.

took another file 1.81gb video file.. different codec used.. coverted to HEVC almost 50% difference. down to less than 800mb

so basically not really worth converting X264 which someone else has done to HEVC thinking your going to save..

Maybe you should consider using Handbrake as it does the job waaay better than that.

Already tried Handbrake, XmediaRecode and another one.. all have the same issue to the H264 to Hevc conversion.. some do get smaller but some have doubled in size..

converting my old avi files which are 1.4gb in size i'm reducing down to 400mb and less.. same resolution, same frame rate, just the different codec used.

my system is old. as in over 9years.. even though its a hexacore processor with 16gb of ram.

videoproc has reduced the time taken from 9hrs to 2hrs converting and getting a better filesize.. saved 50+gb so far.
