uffbros
I have many USB thumb drives. Some are USB 2 and some are USB 3. Most of them have the lettering on the outside rubbed off. What software will identify if they are USB 2 or 3 for me? Thanks.

uffbros
@Arachnoid...My drive has a red head on it..So according to the chart @Kaljuprovided it is USB 3,2...That program says it's 2.
Kalju
@uffbros Presumably, this is because Nirsoft shows which software it is using in current case, but the manufacturer-factory shows the maximum possible version compatibility or what it corresponds to in the case of default settings. Sometimes are also some of them for example white or green. Why, cannot tell, but even now I have one white. It is one ID card reader and works in any USB slot. Probably best to do a file transfer and see what speed they run at , maybe CrystalDiskMark Edited November 24, 2022 by Arachnoid
uffbros
I have my USB extender plugged into the back of my computer and that port is blue which is USB3..My question now is does the end I am plugging my device into automatically work at USB 3 or does the extender determine that? The extender has a white color input.
