Ok I know this is tricky ...there is a blogspot that i need but it is brought down due to various reasons... I still can access the blog from google cache but i can't access the different sections in it...Using a greasemonkey script You can view these sections....the script is called Google (Cache Continue Redux)....okay I hope u r following with me...now i want the webpage to be avaliable offline 4 reading but i don't want the images as i have 56k modem and don't want a bulky download....{the blog with all entries but without images}...

Now i begin working...

1 - I used website rippers/copiers....not working definitely as site is down & sections don't work in google cache site

2 - There is an extension called scrapbook for firefox which can make entire websites offline...but it does not have the option to disable images

Any ideas....would be appreciated..thx

:P

I don't think it's possible to download the whole website that way.

But you can try:

Copy the link you wanna open, open google.com paste that link and open it's cache. Do this for all the pages you want. If you have firefox, you can save the page as html, file > save page as.

For images, options > content > uncheck load images automatically.

Tell me for further. ;)

Well I don't think you understood me quite well my friend :frusty: ...In my case I do not even have to do any pasting...i just enter the site into google ..click cache and browse normally as it is a living site with the greasemonkey script (Cache Continue Redux)...but my question is how to make this blog with all its entries avaliable offline...

ur method suggested wiill definitely work but will take a very long time to open the entries then save them and later view the one by one...

I want to save it in the way that website rippers do for living sites where u can click on each link while u r offline...

(just like an http documentations that come with some programs) B)

thx 4 replying :P

MetaProducts Offline Explorer was always a good one..but I moved away from it and started looking for other options.. I used to have only one extensions that would actually save a page like it was supposed to be offline.. and it has been so long ago I can't remember.. it was never updated.. but it changed the code for the page to save everything as relative links.. which would allow it to work correctly without a server..as long as the directories were maintained correctly...but in this effect you will have to remember that ..

Try Save Complete Page As.. the extension.. There is another one that will change the links to be correct....like I mentioned above.

I actually quit saving web pages and all of the files with it a long time ago... it just didn't seem useful.

I use NoScript & adBlock Plus to filter images, animations, embedded videos etc., etc. ;)
