uTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little cpu, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients. With uTorrent, you can download files faster and contribute by sharing files and bandwidth. Additionally, uTorrent supports the Protocol Encryption joint specification (compatible with Azureus 2.4.0.0 and above, BitComet 0.63 and above) and peer exchange.

This stable build does not close on Exit, has to be manually terminated from Task Manager... 😅

P.S.

And doesn't close the router ports either (even after force close obviously)

Interesting, then quite quick to abandon Win 10 ...

Under great secrecy, I can say that if using Windows 10 there is also nothing similar, as mentioned above.
This is probably a local anomaly.

Hmmm, but I have it same on my PC and Laptop..? What is the chance for coincidence then... So probably not Win version related.

Maybe (probably) the new version is interfering with some program I have, altho all previous versions work fine..? Will test further just out of curiosity.

@mdm

I don't think it's a strange coincidence.
Apparently you've made on both computer similar changes or have some app that has made some unpredictable changes.
It is difficult to guess without any data and information.
However, it is strange when the so-called previous version works. Honestly, I don't think you still have a previous version at all. And this update is not a version update, but a fix for the same version.
But it's true that I installed it specifically to verify your claim. Usually I don't want to install such a thing on my computer, I use a completely separate portable if I need it at all. True, I use it very rarely personally, but I have used it for the last ~ 15 years as portable. So to speak, just in case, so it would be possible use immediately if necessary.
Personally, I think something was wrong with your computers, when was the last time you did a clean install? (A clean installation means that you reinstalled absolutely everything on a completely clean hard drive).
Personally I did it exactly two days ago. My OS is currently W10 Pro 21H2 OS Build 19044.1766.

My OS-s aren't that old of an install, and I am IT, so all works fine and is maintained well (same OS version as you).

That said it might be also the fact that I had my uTorrent set in the finest settings details (with all ads disabled everywhere 😅), so one of them might be in conflict with the new version..?

First I did not use the only .exe from this link! I downloaded the full install from the site where it (erroneously) says µTorrent Classic (Stable 3.5.5 Build 45952) - but you do get the 3.5.5 46304 (1,68 MB size). Have later tried the .exe only - same result. At the end a clean install - also same.

And it is definitely now back to an old one 3.5.5 46206 (the .exe confirms it).

P.S.

Found it! 😄

Yes my ads hunting is to blame, that is they did in fact change something in the new version about it!

*Namely one of the .hosts line I blocked: cdn.ap.bittorrent.com

All the rest pose no issue (yet!) 😉😞
