got a PC with realtec adaptor built in to the motherboard, network keeps dropping out regularly.

to fix it i have to either restart PC or click ont he network icon in task bar and hit the trouble shoot button and it seems to fix itself for a while and just fails again a bit later on.

i have uninstalled the driver reinstalled, still doing it.

any other ideas??

You sure some networking related software, including security softwares are not causing any problems there.

Power saving options could be putting the card into sleep.

everything there is all good, no sleep active anywhere and i turned off PCI express link power state management, so will see if that makes any difference.

but the network will drop at any time whether im using it or not.

Try manually execute each step that troubleshoot does, one by one; and should be able to pinpoint the exact problem.

nothing worked so i went out and got a new network adaptor and installed it. working fine now, havent had a drop out in 24 hours since putting a new one in. appears the onboard network adaptor may have been faulty.
