Administrator DKT27 Posted March 16, 2010 Administrator Share Posted March 16, 2010 You mean that page refreshes when there's a new post? For that you need a make a script and it's not easy I think.
chlorophyll
U MEAN we dont have that sophisticated technician on our forumto integrate THAT feature.ok tel this .did u like that feature ???hey but for me its simply superb
HX1
Not for sure if that forums is actually the same as Nsane for one, and integrating a module.. it would need to be, unless I am wrong..
chlorophyll
I think that forum is in existence prior to nsane.am i wrong?
HX1
Nope.. well yes and now.. this version of their Forum.. NO.. the site itself ( NeoWin ) I think has been around for quite a good long while.. Do I think it has anything to do with it? No.. LOL
chlorophyll
Not that its compulsory.but ours is in beta mode.so y cant we add this feature to full version of nsane.also that feature adds some attraction to our forum.ok its my idea.final decision is from our admins na.. HX1
Well what I am making a note of you would have to know from installing and running a forum... and know the differences between this one and NeoWin... I think its kind of a nice feature.. I wouldn't break the forum/site/my back trying to implement it though... :) Personally.. Admin and Webmasters make that decision so it would be up to them..If you want to find a little bit out about Forums, you could check out this link... http://www.forummatrix.org/ Take a look at the list on the left side of the page. This is all of the different types of forms which are hostable, installable, and that can be used. There are quite a few there. With some you can upgrade packages and modules, add features and take them away. You can make some of them integrate directly with your website. But just like the skins for them, it consist of many hours of writing code, and image creation, and some packages are made to work specifically with one forum of the other. The code implications and install methods are not all the same or you could have a lot of issues, especially with the ones which Copyright their code and charge for it.. This also means that this code and how it works will not be compatible with other areas and can break some sites..

shought
The Neowin forum is IPB 3 ;)I think this could be done, but we'd have to find the mod / addon that would provide this feature. (Writing an own version would be reinventing the wheel as well as take a lot of time)
Administrator Lite Posted March 16, 2010 Administrator Share Posted March 16, 2010 Also: Neowin is a much bigger forum than ours, with lots of posts every minute. A feature like this doesn't make as much sense here as it does there. The "view new content" should be fine on our forum for atleast the short-term.
