*dcs18
I prefer a Use-n-Throw solution. Like to scan with RootkitRevealer, once in a way before disposing it off.RootkitRevealer:-http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/sysinternals/bb897445.aspx
spootnack
Hello.Look at : HereIn the cat. "Scanners (on-demand)" look for : "Hidden data detection softwares (anti-rootkit softwares):"orThere++
Heedna
Any good AV system in its resident mode should catch Rootkit infection attempts. It is more difficult to eradicate existing rootkit infections. Try Rootalyzer http://www.spybotupdates.biz/files/rootalyz-0.3.4.47.zip#hash(md5:52DA6E6FF21DA4D8C37934EF2E1E2A87) from Spybot. Worked very well for me.
