Popular Post Karamjit
Media Player Classic - Black Edition (aka MPC-BE) is based on the original "Media Player Classic" project (Gabest) and "Media Player Classic Home Cinema" project (Casimir666). MPC-BE contains additional features and bug fixes. With MPC-BE you can play almost all types of video and audio files. MPC-BE also supports hardware decoding and deinterlacing. With MPC-BE, you can watch Youtube videos directly inside the player by just copy and pasting the Youtube link inside it. MPC-BE also allows you automatically mount ISO images and a lot more. ashish1989
Which is better HC or BE and why?
oliverjia
Either one is an excellent player. The HC version was abandoned apparently before someone took over the development again at GitHub. Alternatively, you can try mpv player - it could take a bit of time to learn but once you are familiar with it can play anything you throw at it. rach

BE is a derivative of the HC with more features (also the reason why I switched from HC to BE.) cyberloner
ashish1989
I installed mpc be today. I played h265 videos with it, which in turn giving green screen and hangs. However h264 videos are working f9. Any suggestions?
ugatme
I'm no expert but I highly recommend installing Lav filters and xysubfilter. Been using BE for a few years and couldn't be happier. Good Luck.

UberGeek
On my MPC-BE, I've got 2 External Filters . . . madVR and LAV (madVR is truly a game-changer for expert Users.) For me, the rendering of the built-in subtitle Filter in MPC-BE is good enough to skip any External Filters such as XYsubFilter. Administrator DKT27 Posted January 1, 2022 Administrator Share Posted January 1, 2022 From what I remember. This uses a different build-in decoder and when we tested it, we found it consumed less CPU when playing files I think.
