Karamjit
Skype is a little piece of software that lets you make free calls to anyone else on Skype, anywhere in the world. And even though the calls are free, they are really excellent quality. If you and your friends, family or business contacts are using webcams, you can also make free video calls. You can even call landlines and mobile phones at really cheap per minute rates (and there's no setup or subscription fee). Audio and HD video calling. Call recording and Live subtitles. Smart messaging. Ability to Call phones. Screen sharing. Private conversations with with industry standard end to end encryption. All with Skype. Thanks to g18072020 for the update. DrJohn
Take care ! This new version creates automatically (when starting) an input rule into the Windows firewall (NDI_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx), even with existing user rules. I don't like a software overwriting my firewall rules, it's abusive and not secure specially for input rules...
DrJohn
Furthermore, the rule is created each time Skype is started, and not at the version installation ! If the responsible programmer is not fired, the only workaround I see is to use Windows Firewall Control !
rseiler
I have not installed this version yet see multiple Skype rules, most in Inbound. It's not unusual.

Until now, for Inbound, 2 rules Skype were sufficient (one TCP Private and one UDP Private)... I rolled back to v8.75.0.140...
Kalju
@DrJohn I checked everything, including reinstalling Skype-8.75.0.140. I don't know, unfortunately or fortunately, but I don't make any difference. And this applies to both, ie both for Inbound and for Outbound. Always is everything the same. As I said, Skype v8.77.0.90 creates a new Inbound rule (NDI_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx). It's necessary to have Inbound rules but, from my point of view, it's a bad programming because abusive: 1. This rule is created each time Skype is started (instead of installation only) 2. This rule overwrites all previous user rules The security problem comes from the Windows firewall unable to prohibit the modification/creation of firewall rules by software (this security flaw is used by spyware)
HeLLBRiNGeR
It looks like they rolled back to v8.75.0.140. Every link I tried -official, of course- led me to that version.
Kalju
@HeLLBRiNGeR You are right, the website is also Skype-8.75.0.140.exe I just a minute ago checked.
