jalaffa
Yahoo! Messenger - Instant messaging allows you to quickly exchange messages with your online friends. Unlike e-mail, instant messages appear as soon they`re sent. By downloading the Yahoo! Messenger application to your computer, you can send instant messages to other people from around the globe, send them files or have a voice conference. Use Yahoo! Messenger to call and talk over the Internet just like you're on the phone. All you need is a headset, or a microphone and speakers. It's that easy - just click the Call button. If no one's there, leave a voicemail! You can also get much better sound quality than regular phone lines. Try it out - you and your friends will really hear a difference. Find, add, share friends... It's easier than ever to add and invite friends to Messenger. You can even send your contact information to a friend's Address Book.Download

*dcs18
The only one gripe I've got against this lovely IM is that on every installation, it loves to startup with Windows regardless of your configured preference. :mad2: Can't grumble too much, though - after all it's a freeware.

*dcs18
Well, what you've posted is true. :yes:That's not the issue, though. Instead of msconfig, I reconfigure it on the interface (check screenshot below) following which it behaves and does not startup with window, anymore. ;)The actual issue is every time one installs Yahoo! Messenger, the installer configures itself to startup with Windows irrespective of one's configuration (even when done through msconfig.)
Marik
oh yeh...that's just yahoo's way of telling us that they care....and they'd rather shove their ym down ur throats with every damn release
Administrator DKT27 Posted March 4, 2010 Administrator Share Posted March 4, 2010 That's why I hate installing yahoo. Everytime I have to msconfig it as you have to first login into your yahoo account, ONLY then you are allowed to make any changes in preference. Another problem was, I have yahoo installed in E drive, but there was a time when I used to download the latest build but the installer still made the installation directory set to C:\Program Files.. And now they've understood that it's better to keep it the way previous version is installed.

*dcs18
:hehe: If you'd really like Yahoo! Messenger to startup with windows just check my screenshot (2 posts above yours) and keep that box ticked.
