wow nice tutorial.now i wil check if i had left any of da above mentioned in my last uninstallation process.nice thank u

edit : had done evrthing as u said.now everything uninstalled :dance2:

did all that before it is still gone, I do have office keys in regedit in ARPCache, and random outlook folders, in the directories you asked me to looks for office folder. or ose.

also no installer folder. or MSOCache, and some temp files won't delete because 'in use'.

Did you follow point # 6 religiously? :unsure:

06.) Enable 'Hidden files and folders' from your 'Folder Options' under the Control Panel.

and some temp files won't delete because 'in use'.

You can try 'UnLocker' to delete them.

Enable hidden files and folders, once. or when ever I open a folder ?

hm... I have a feeling hidden files in subdirectories are hidden :s

or not.

but um 07.) Delete the 'Normal.dotm' and the 'NormalEmail.dotm' files

there is a C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\OFFICE and data folder is empty

and in C:\Documents and Settings\hugh\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

the .pst is still there???

C:\Documents and Settings\hugh\Local Settings\Application Data\Temp is empty

But %temp% in run , C:\DOCUME~1\hugh\LOCALS~1\Temp. has :

no F01FEC entries or 0FF1CE entires in reg at all.

there is only a global sub folder in [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Win32Assemblies]

and it has about 5 things in it one being default.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Delivery\SourceEngine\Downloads]

therre is no delivery directory, and i havn't seen source engine before. either in processes or. ... well ever.

no ose. in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ose]

ps. what about windowsNT folders?

shadow directory or what ever.

Thanks. ran through it again. no luck.

think this error is key.

um.. yeah mso cache came up.. when I was installing. but is gone now with roll back after fail.

and installer. I don't know, i've never had it just a bunch of hidden ntuninstallkb### misc folders. in windows.

maybe xp home doesn't have installer directory. or I would of just uninstalled the components from office that I wanted to. instead of this lol.

Um oh if i want to try install 2003 what do i delete in regedit, i mean. 11.0 , 9.0 folder out of office ? or just 12.0

I mean in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0] can't i just delete everything in \Office\ ???

or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word :huh:

Edit: And what about HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0 or 11.0

Cleaned out registry again of 12.0 folder, that's all that comes back with fail install..

um all directories are empty of traces. all temp files.

So I don't know must be something else.

Are there any sweet patches out there, that I can put in the update folder on instal disc?

xp repair hung on 39 approx to complete. found out my disc was bad. got another original.

Put in the key, all was sweet. Hung on please wait.

I figure, this is because boot is expecting the already activated version of xp to be on there.

But the fresh cd has replaced it, and it can't load because it isn't activated.

So I ran task manager and killed msoobe, but i wasn't smart enough and when the welcome screen loaded, oose just re ran.

So yeap had to overt msoobe

works great.

But Outlook says "cannot load your default folders"

and closes.

need outlook to work, badly.

I think it is because needs xp to be activated.

I'm trying to activate online, but it won't even load.

I think it has something to do with this error report that comes up now and then:

If I copy the msfeedssync.exe or some other things "idk" from the first xp disc that failed in repair

(the xp I had on and was reparing {to resolve office install fail error

(both o and w were activated)}) and put them on, would that help.

OR

are there any updates here that would help resolve.

(I want to activate online, just won't open)
