As part of the the last pair of racers on the track, he put up the day's fastest time but lost the gold metal on a DQ for in improper lane choice. He was so far ahead of his fellow competitor that he had no lane reference when he failed to switch lanes just past the midway point of the race.

"You have to decide in a split second. Afterwards I should have gone with my own thoughts, but I was brought into doubt," Kramer said.

"This is a real expensive mistake. This really sucks."

Kramer's coach, Gerard Kemkers, could clearly been seen pointing Kramer towards the wrong lane.

"Usually, I don't want to blame anyone else but this time I can't do anything else," a frustrated Kramer said. "I wanted to go on the outer lane, then just before the cone, Gerald [Kemkers] shouted 'inner lane.' I thought he's probably right and went to the inter lane.

"Then I noticed in the stadium that something was wrong."

Kramer finished almost four seconds ahead of Lee Seung-Hoon, but it didn't matter. The South Korean was already celebrating the gold medal while the Dutch world-record holder was finishing his race, partially unaware of what he had done.

*cough* bullshit argument which you got from TV/News.

The guy who claimed this(on live Dutch television) is an idiot, obviously the coach is going to say something.

If you see your pupil making the biggest mistake of his life, you'll try to warn him, this is what the coach did... Only, he was the one making the mistake, sadly.

on a side note. they had on the news here that a report was talkign to the skater before (couple days) and asked him how to pronounce his name for the new story. he, the skater, says are you stupid and ends the report. the skater is a jackazz too. so he got what was coming to him. on the news they said his name is pronounce (karma) if so this makes it all the more funnier

Lol, he's won 4 (or 5?) Gold medals already and the interviewing is treating him like 'some guy'? The interviewer should've just made some proper preparations.

You're not gonna ask Roger Federer to 'please state your name and discipline', are you :P

Media ≠ information.

ps I do agree that he should've responded a little more polite ;)
