Solve the problem that the start menu cannot open:

method one:

  1.Press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC shortcut to open the task manager.

  2.Find and click on Windows Explorer, then click Restart in the lower left corner.

method two:

  1.Press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC shortcut to open the task manager.

  2.Find and click the "Start" process (UWP program), then click the option to end the task in the lower right corner.

  3.Wait for this process to restart.

method three:

  1.Open the command prompt as the system administrator.(cmd)

  2.Enter the following commands for system files integrity check and repair.(pick one of two)

sfc /scannow

  Or you can enter the following command to fix the specified location.

sfc /scanfile=C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.StartMenuExperienceHost_cw5n1h2txyewy\StartMenuExperienceHost.exe

method Four:

  If all else fails, there may be a conflict between a third-party application and the Start menu.

  1.(win+R).

  2.Type in code.

msconfig

  3.Check the " Selective startup ".

  4.Do not choose to load the startup item.

  5.reboot.

Solve the problem that appears in the running bar.

1. The Run box cannot save the most recently used command.

  1.Open Settings in Windows 10 and click Privacy.

  2.In the " general " tab, open " allows Windows to track the application starts, to improve the start and search results ".

2.Delete the history in the run box immediately.

  1.(win+R)

regedit

  2.Follow the path below to expand.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU

  3.Delete all options except the default option in the right window.

. . . and, to prevent the Start Menu problem (in the first place,) makes sense to use a 3rd party Start Menu on Windows 8.x and Windows 10.x.

 

Personally, have benefited from a 3rd party Start Menu even on Windows 7.x . . . but, that's just me.
