Antivirus and internet protection components in Avast Pro Antivirus are built for easy integration with existing firewalls in users' home or work computers. Pro Antivirus has two major additions to the core protection elements in Avast Free Antivirus: the Script Engine and the Sandbox.Download
LeetPirate
Any feedback from Avast users? I find the updates are coming frequently, it makes me wonder about the stability of it.
Administrator DKT27 Posted February 13, 2010 Administrator Share Posted February 13, 2010 Only feedback that I know of is there's no fix available for Pro even after v5 being so good.
Bizarre™
@LeetPirate:I read that v5 is very stable, and the only problem is the license ^_^
LeetPirate
Does the free version contain adware like avira free?
RobrPatty
Does the free version contain adware like avira free?Nope...I've been using the free version for awhile now with no problems. I also run two different anti-spyware softwares and no hits.

LeetPirate
Free version working nicely on W7 x64. :) I like the layout of the options too. Only problem is they have an IM shield component but it does not auto configure Windows Live Messenger which is kinda lame, Norton does it just fine. I had to search about the place to find the solution, you have to manually set WLM to scan using the "ashQuick.exe" scanner.I guess you can use the free version if you already use another firewall, sandbox, and antispam software, else you may need to "acquire" a license.Forgot to mention, no boot time scanner on 64bit version. :(
