funkyy
My Windows 7 (x64) was from an installation disc from Oct 2018. I don't remember which group created it, but I seem to remember one of their instructions was "don't install .NET 4.8". My question is:- Is there any reason why they would give that instruction? The reason I ask is because each time I install .NET 4.8 updates (using .NET ByPass) they appear in Control Panel installed updates list, and Microsoft .NET Framework appears in Installed Programs list....but they disappear after 2 reboots!!!! When I search the KB files in Installed Updates they are not found. But the Registry shows I have .NET 4.8 on my system. I'm going round in circles and spending hours trying to understand why this is happening and I have this nagging memory that for some reason the "don't install .NET 4.8" was advised. Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm totally stumped (as usual).
