That was fast! Microsoft sure is prompt in releasing this update. I remember back on their August 2009 DirectX update it took them a couple of months before uploading it publicly. I guess their on a rush now since Windows 7 is on a roll lately. Anyway, thanks for the update jalaffa..ever punctual & dependable as always! B)

I have a question.

I have windows 7, and directx 11.... why do they only update directx 9?

or does this update include updates for dx 10 and 11?

If you play a lot of games, especially old ones, it's better to install DirectX 9, 10, and 11.

I wonder if there's a way of updating DirectX directly by downloading only needed files from internet rather than downloading whole installer again and again. I saw some game installers doing that.

It is on microsoft site here, it searches your pc and downloads only the updates

Some applications only search for d3dx_41.dll, d3dx_42.dll,... on your system32 folder, so it could be the only thing needed xD

But curiously, MPC-HC likes to have latest DLL only, but beside main EXE (for some renderers that require Direct3D).
