jalaffa
Ares is a free peer to peer file sharing program that enables users to share any digital file including images, audio, video, software, documents, etc. You may now easily publish your files through the Ares decentralized network. As a member of the virtual community, you can search and download just about any file shared by other users. With Ares you can also join chat rooms or host your channel. Ares automatically finds more sources and downloads files from many users at once. This can increase remarkably the speed of your downloads.Download

Administrator DKT27 Posted January 23, 2010 Administrator Share Posted January 23, 2010 Now that's called cool comment. :PI tried it, everytime I started it, it took me to their main site that is fully of crappy(also fake I guess) adult ads.Forget that, I tried to download with it, kept it running for hours, days, unblocked it in firewall, did everything that needed to be done. But no.Plus whenever I started it, it scanned my computer from the start whether I had completed scanning the last time or not, and thus I guess, also exposing my whole computer's personal files to the network. Administrator DKT27 Posted January 23, 2010 Administrator Share Posted January 23, 2010 I hope I'm not being too aggressive about my personal experiences, if I am, please pardon me. I somehow think that Ares should be reconsidered for being on frontpage or not. There are better P2P clients out there. But thats again, my personal opinion. jalaffa
"issue" forwarded to staff for consideration. it is not unusual for p2p programs to start things up in the background though,Edit:Staff responded. Ares will be listed.

Toshiro
Works just fine for mesame here..Dkt, check for the scanning 'problem' at the Manual Configuration section. About that homepage.. You might have caught a virus, no problems here and it doensn't send any information about your files you have in your system. It checks for folders that are useable for sharing. (Like in LimeWire the folder: Sharing )
