I don't think this release is any different from the RC2 ;) So if you have the RC2 you've got the final.

Haven't checked the hashes but the filesize and digital signature are exactly the same.

You're still taken to the RC 'whatsnew' page because it isn't updated yet.

I see, but if you check the release progress link I presented you will see there's only three more dots to fill in. From past experience (with you :P) I've noticed that it doesn't take longer than a day to be updated from there on.

Thanx for the update. :D

So this makes me feel to wait for the final to be officially released, then I may try custom build. . But hey I had already downloaded RC2. :(

I know the feeling I just installed the one that is supposedly OFFICIAL and its still RC2... I backed it all up, uninstalled erased all traces, cleaned the registry and junk files.. Then I re-installed created three profiles..one of which is just a copy of my old full profile.. and noticing some good things.. Javascript animations are smoother than before.. The default load page is complete crap on time... BUT.. it seems that load time is lowered, and the browser is a bit faster... with the basic package.. no extensions.. After loading in the old profile the browser seems to be smoother.. faster at startup.. but more like it was before startup got REALLY bad... LOL.. if anyone remembers that ..will have to wait and see.. Still .. I am not happy about installing the RC instead of the release compiled version.. Still posted everywhere too.. I guess I will be dong some testing for the change over to the official 3.6 ... get a profile together ... and be better prepared ...( should have listened to my instinct ) .. anyway I have some settings to double check.. LOL

Hmm same here.

EDIT: Worked when changing the link to HTTP as heath mentioned.

Try this link -

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%203.6.exe

Thanks DKT27 !

But why this link isn't blocked ? And why the others are blocked ?

++

PS: hum is it really the final version ? Because I see first-starting website says "This is a release candidate!"...

Thanks for the update.

Thanks heath and DKT27 for the ftp -> http download trick. It worked.

This "Firefox Setup 3.6.exe" file is byte for byte identical to "Firefox Setup 3.6 RC 2.exe".

Somehow this makes me feel this isn't the final. Of course there are chances of me being wrong as many times beta or RC2 goes onto become the final as Lite mentioned once, but somehow. :dunno:

" 550 permission denied "

This means they do not want us to download the RC2 because final is going to be posted very, very soon. So, people have been downloading the RC2 that stopped now. And also changes happened between RC2 and Final...
