Administrator DKT27 Posted January 20, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted January 20, 2010 Wow it seems to be solved now.I removed - Java Console 6.0.10- Java Console 6.0.11Actually I was wary about removing them that why I didn't removed them before. :unsure:I disabled all the real plugins and quicktime ones. I wonder why I didn't disabled them before. But hey they are automatically enabled again. :blink:And the most important thing. I edited my prefs.js. It did contain some old extension's infos. I removed that lines. Now when I close it, my CPU get's kicked to 97% and then Firefox process goes away. :party:So problem seems to be solved for now. Thanx for helping. :)

Night Owl
Now I remember Biz uses tete009. :DThanks for the info, my dear Watson. :D Wow it seems to be solved now.I removed - Java Console 6.0.10- Java Console 6.0.11Actually I was wary about removing them that why I didn't removed them before. :unsure:As soon as I read that you had Java Console 6.0.10, 6.0.11, and 6.0.18 all running at the same time, I thought that might be causing your problem. I'm glad it's solved now. :)

HX1
To remove those plugins you will need to use Mr Tech to help you get the exact location of them.. and you will have to remove the file manually. QuickTime usually has several files that have to be moved/removed... and if you did not clean your prefs.js file while Firefox was closed.. all of the entries are still there.. Firefox loads them, and writes them back when its closed, it has to startup with them cleaned out.. Just the same way that it locks several files when it is running.. Go back and run through what I wrote before... Paying special attention to your plugins. You really have to be exacting in what you have and that only one version and files are installed into your system ( some f which may mean un-installing them, removing all files and directories and re-installing.) This would be true of ALL OF THEM.. might even want to run a registry clean for references to old files that may be parts of old versions of them as well.. ( May want to run SpeedyFox as well.. )The extensions can be the cause, as I recall; as an example - Ubiquity users also had this issue some time back. Having the extension installed, caused the browser UI to close yet stay open and eventually consume almost 300MB or memory over the process of several hours. This is one of the reasons it took me so long to find and choose some of the extensions and use the plugins I have now, ( and why I become aggravated trying to find replacements when these are not properly updated ). IF everything here does not work and you have done all you can, re-installing FF may help as well.. The safest thing would be to back-up and wipe it out, after 3.6 is released, and install one thing at a time making sure yo have no incompatibility/corruption issues like your having now.. This may help on your versions.. a copy of My Config..Generated: Wed Jan 20 2010 12:36:58 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time)User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091221 Firefox/3.5.7 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)Build ID: 20091221164558Enabled Extensions: [29]- Adblock Plus 1.1.3 - Ads were yesterday!- autoHideStatusbar 0.4.4 - Auto-hide Firefox, Flock or Thunderbird status-bar- BetterPrivacy 1.45 - "Super-Cookie Safeguard"- Blackout 1.0 - Read in the dark, black rules- Bookmark Duplicate Detector 1.0.2 - Helps you find, move and remove duplicate bookmarks. Administrator DKT27 Posted January 20, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted January 20, 2010 I'll see it later. I don't use Ubiquity.May RC2 be a cause for the problem? :unsure:I haven't installed a single addon or anything similar from last week. And this problem is only from 2-3 days. HX1
Well Shockwave updated last week, did you ever try by creating a new profile..which you can delete afterwards..?
Administrator DKT27 Posted January 20, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted January 20, 2010 No, I haven't even updated the shockwave either.I have another profile. But this problem only happens 1 in a 4-5 times, and only when I've used it for some time, like 20mins or so. It's hard to say if another profile would have any problems. HX1
Well I think you miss my point... You should update Shockwave. This can happen with out of date plugins .. like I have said for like five posts. Most people really do not even address this area and even those of us who do.. still have to take the time to look into it in detail.. Because this area can cause issues. Plugins that are old or have problems..( or even have issues caused by other things, like other programs... site code.. embedding.. a number of things ) can cause the browser to stay open by not terminating properly. Same is true of the extensions, and the manner in which they react with the browser and its function. This could also be created if you have made extensions compatible with Mr Tech.. and you can't always say that these changes come about ONLY when the user changes something because this can be completely incorrect. The only way to find out with the other profile is to create one. I really don't see what the problem is with that .. but its your show..In this effect all settings, extensions, and databases contained therein a 'PROFILE'... will all be fresh and unchanged from defaults. This can help to tell if its a difference in Plugins or the extensions. Maybe even a theme, depending on what areas of the theme were written and how they change the program. Its is definitely not easy to chase something down, that can be an odd occurrence, that is nothing definite .. if you don't start troubleshooting and go from start to finish.. You have to cover your bases or you may never find an answer..
Administrator DKT27 Posted January 20, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted January 20, 2010 Well yea I'll update it.Now I remember, I installed Java v6.18 yesterday, so would it be a cause of a problem.
HX1
Did you install the JRE, or the JDK.. If yo have no need for the JDK it would be advisable to wipe all of it out.. all traces everywhere ( registry--file system, there are several if you have EVER installed the JDK ).. Then re-install the JRE for your regular needs. Really have to be thorough and it can be a pain.. especially working on something like this.. that is really simple.. and having it take all day.. it can be if anything I have mentioned today, has gone wrong.. It should not be the root of the problem to the extent that you have to go backward.. I am using it and have been since its release.. without problem.. So yes it can cause an issue..and there should not be anything wrong using it...
Bizarre™
@Biz: I would like to try RC2 of tete009, will it install over my current firefox? You need to uninstall your current version of Firefox. You can keep your profile, however.
Administrator DKT27 Posted January 20, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted January 20, 2010 I was unable to install the new version of JDK (that contains bundled JRE). So I really uninstalled every bit of it from my computer. And then installed the new version of JDK.Well I've just started to learn Java. So I need JDK. I know it's not the best place to start with but why not.@Biz: :( . I needed my current one.So if I go for it, which one to select? SSE or SSE2?I think my P4 supports upto SSE3. But I don't know what the hell does it mean.
HX1
Have you cleaned your registry since then? Oh and you will find that there is a conflict of where people think you should start.. LOL Between languages, programs and directions in programming..
Administrator DKT27 Posted January 20, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted January 20, 2010 :nono: :uhuh:So CCleaner or Jv16 or something different but easy to use?Long story about the language. But it wasn't my decision to start with Java. Not in my hands. :(
HX1
I use SpyBot and WinASO.. but just a good registry cleaner/defragger to get rid of anything that may be left behind.. pointing to old files or resources from previous installations of the JDK's/JRE's.. You can dump your current version since the custom build will still pick-up the plug-ins you have installed.Provided you don't delete or mess anything in your profile folder. Administrator DKT27 Posted January 20, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted January 20, 2010 Hmm, will it be all the same in looks etc, etc?
