<img src="http://www.nsanedown.com/images/logos/Chrome.png" class="logo" alt="Google Chrome" title="Google Chrome" />Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier. Google Chrome also uses a brand new javascript engine (V8), which is much faster than existing javascript interpreters. This means you can create more complex and more intensive AJAX applications with fewer speed and processing constraints. Finally, Google Chrome is built on top of WebKit, so Google Chrome users will benefit from the CSS3 features being added to WebKit as those features are released.

Thanks for the update. My Google Chrome is now updated. (Good that it doesn't say 'stable' in the About Google Chrome window like the previous Dev Channel version.)

Wow, jalaffa knew almost the minute (if not the very minute) the latest Google Chrome Dev Channel release was made available. How does he do it?

It does say stable here now  I did a clean install of it. Maybe the stable label will vanish after the next update?

I uninstalled my Google Chrome 4.0.295.0 that was updated with the "About Google Chrome" box. I made sure to delete the Updates folder (with the GoogleUpdate.exe file) that existed on my Windows XP machine. I reinstalled Google Chrome with the installer from the nsane.down frontpage. But my About Google Chrome box still says "4.0.295.0".

At least I'm rid of GoogleUpdate.exe on Windows XP now, just like I don't have it on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 PC.

OK, I just uninstalled the "4.0.288.1 stable" Dev Channel on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and then I installed the same 4.0.295.0 installer that I installed earlier on Windows XP. But on Windows 7 I see the same "4.0.295.0 stable" that jalaffa sees. Strange that I see "4.0.295.0" on Windows XP, but "4.0.295.0 stable" on Windows 7.

Anyway, why does it even show "stable" when this is the Dev Channel? There are separate Stable and Beta channels.

EDIT: After uninstalling 4.0.288.1 on Windows 7 and then installing 4.0.295.0, I am now seeing Jump Lists for Google Chrome. I didn't see them before with 4.0.288.1, but I have been seeing them with SRWare Iron 4.0.227.0.
