Although Israel might be the most secular & liberal country in the Middle East, Israel is neither secular or liberal. Israel is a Jewish state and liberatiing totalatarian facist countries is not part of the country's agenda. Israeli youths and activists in Tel Aviv want to see Israel as liberal as any country in America or Europe, but that won't happen anytime soon. Currently cooperating with facist arab governments helps to mantain Israel's security, but if that boomerangs & compromises its own security things are going to change for sure. Israel is not the only one taking that stance & lots of European countries & American politicians are following a similar approach. It is totally unknown what would become of the Arabs if they decided to become hippies. With change comes risk & most politicians are wise old men responsible for mantaining the stat quo.
