This is identical to what I downloaded and installed two days ago thanks to ravisoorya. If you go up just one level higher than the download link posted here for the (US) English version, the dates are from two days ago.

So ravisoorya was right again!! Well done, ravisoorya.

And the crowd roared, 'Ra-vi, ra-vi, ra-vi, ra-vi, ra-vi, ...'. Do we hear Member of the Week coming up? Ravisoorya got bonked on the head :chair: not once, but twice :duh:. And ravisoorya was right both times!! Well done!!

Thanks for the update, jalaffa and ravisoorya.

Nice post Night Owl.

Ravisoorya is sun's son. Ravi and soorya(surya) both are the names of the god of sun. ;)

 Thank you so much, DKT27. I had fun writing it.

At first I thought you were saying that ravisoorya is the son of nsane member 'sun' that I never heard of before. Don't worry about me, the large cup of coffee is starting to kick in now. :D On second thought, maybe I need a second cup of coffee.

Thank you so much for the etymology. :sun: Is that Hindi?

Ra-vi :notworthy:, ra-vi :notworthy:, ra-vi :notworthy:, ra-vi :notworthy:, ra-vi :notworthy:, ...

He wasn't 'bonked on the head'... :frusty:

I'm pretty sure ravisoorya understands we respect the updates he's posting but until we've confirmed the validity of these updates we can't post them yet. Why am I so sure? Because I told him so...

Edit: I do understand you supporting him however, he was, indeed, right, yet again ;)

Surya and ravi comes in almost every Indian language, officially, there are 22 languages. I think it(ravi and surya) comes from Sanskrit. Most of the languages are adapted from Sanskrit. ;)

ravisoorya, best of luck with your exams.

As for Firefox 3.6 RC1, I am really liking it these past two days. The new tab behaviour of opening a new tab to the immediate right of the active tab (à la Google Chrome and SRWare Iron) is brilliant. Scrolling is very smooth right now (3.5.7 was really choppy on another site I visit daily). I have no complaints about the speed of Firefox 3.6 RC1 so far (on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 machine). I will have to install it on my old Windows XP SP3 machine to really see how much faster it is over 3.5.7.

So are you usin MR Tech Toolkit?

No, I'm not using MR Tech's Toolkit. The very few extensions that I use seem to be compatible with Firefox 3.6 RC1. Later, I'll have to check my extensions on my Windows XP SP3 PC.

Mr Tech Toolkit will make all of your favorite extensions work with FF. Try it. ;)

SacredCultivator

Or as I mentioned in another thread.

Type in the Address Bar

about:config

And create a New Boolean called:

extensions.checkCompatibility.3.6

Set it to:

False

And that should make all extensions work as well

Well, SkipScreen works fine with Firefox 3.6 RC1. But Snagit v9.1.3 no longer scrolls windows when trying to take a scrolling window screen capture. When I first started Snagit v9.1.3 after having installed Firefox 3.6 RC1, Snagit re-configured itself for some reason. Now Snagit only captures the viewable window without bothering to autoscroll. Oh, oh. :fear:

As for speed on Windows XP SP3, Firefox 3.5.7 took about 17 seconds after a fresh boot of the PC and starting Firefox only after everything had settled down (i.e. a cold start). Firefox 3.6 RC1 took about 15 seconds. (EDIT: After a second reboot, 17 seconds was required, so there's no difference in start-up speeds.) Both of them take just over 3 seconds when restarting Firefox (i.e. a warm start).

EDIT: I uninstalled Snagit v9.1.3 and then re-installed it, but I still cannot capture scrolling windows with Firefox 3.6 RC1.

@Night Owl:

I get 3s cold boot, and 1s warm boot on FF 3.5.7 fbca18c4d812e0d0f305884f9fd8a131.gif

The reason might be me using a custom build.

I get very fast Firefox start-up times on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 PC which has an Intel Core2 Duo P8400 2.26 GHz CPU (both Firefox 3.5.7 and 3.6 RC1). The times from my previous post are on my old Windows XP SP3 PC with an Intel Pentium 4 2.26 GHz CPU. The times on my Windows XP PC (which I'm on now) show that there's really no difference in start-up times between Firefox 3.5.7 and 3.6 RC1.

Honestly, I don't see any speed improvements in my 3.5.7. Even after clearing cache and deleting cookies just to assure it. -_-

Do you have or checked FastStone Capture? .. with the new one..

I installed FastStone Capture 6.5 and gave it a try. It insists on capturing the scrollbar while capturing a scrolling window. What? And it does a very poor job too by showing the scrollbar thumb repeatedly. So for every screenshot you have to manually edit out the scrollbar. At least it's able to scroll an entire Web page.

Well I am assuming that it must have something to do with either how FastStone reads the window area or changes in how FF was coded in this area.. note the difference with mine in 3.5.7...( half size because of size..Page 1 was 1.39 MB ..LOL )

EDIT: Removed large image..

This might explain the reason you had trouble with the previous one too..There are usually changes like this from version to version.. Like from 3.1 to 3.5.. A few UI coding changes which brings a ton of issues with various extensions related to the areas which get recoded.. and for programs that reference them.. So I am guessing this may be what is going on.. May not see an update for it until its final and released..( rather it is the programs or the browser depending on if its a bug in FF or not )

It must be due to changes in Firefox 3.6. Yes, your Firefox 3.5.7 screenshot looks great. I tried FastStone Capture 6.5 with SRWare Iron 4.0.227 and everything worked great too. So either Snagit and FastStone Capture will have to be re-written to work with Firefox 3.6, or there's a bug in Firefox 3.6 that needs to be fixed.
