metabeta
Guys i have a Win7 Pro Disc and there was a key for it too. It said it was an OEM key. The Oem key is tied to one pc for life, yeah. But there are other version like Retail version and the serial although would activate a single pc. But can it activate 3-4 pc as well. I am really confused with this oem and retail keys. mehdibleu
There are different type of oem keys, there are OEM:SLP which are tied to one machine as you said , this one is used on new pc with pre-installed win7 (when you buy a new pc) and there are also OEM:COA keys, these ones are generally found at the back of the machine when you buy a new pc with pre-installed xp, vista or seven and can be used to activate these OS in case OEM:SLP keys cannot activate your windows vista or seven. OEM:DM license keys are different, these ones are used when you buy a pc with pre-installed win8.1/win10, these keys are present in the bios and are used to activate automatically win8.1/win10 editions if digital license was generated on the machine. Regarding retail keys, they can be used to activate a limited number of machines (20 max if i'm correct) unlike mak keys which can be used to activate sometimes thousand of machines. I tried to summarize in some lines the difference between these type of keys. If you want more detaile information, you need to do some research on the net. Very thankful for your reply, concern and time. I have OEM System Builder Disc both 32-64 bit. Sometime in future i want to build a pc, a badboy and it seems this license is kind a complicated than i thought. OMG how much would a Retail key cost. But i got some vague idea about this license, now! Anyone here could add something to it, or has something to say. Thank you.

Thank you. a key for almost any windows on ebay go for as low as 3 usd. they work fine. my friend checked my serial and that was actually a retail key. i have since then bought another one for myself and my brother. everything verified by microsoft servers. to clarify i have in the family 3 licenses of windows 10 (pro) fully working. just make sure you get the right version and follow the sellers instructions. mind you these sellers shops won't be alive after 6 months so install it directly. go for a seller with 97% or higher votes and make sure they have sold +30 units. also bought office 365 student/lifetime/academic which also works fine.
