Unlock Dell Latitude 10 tablet

Recommended Posts

Hi,
I have a Dell Latitude 10 st2 tablet with an Administrator password (unknown to me) and Bitlocker enabled (unknown password and recovery key), so I can't install anything.
The person who gave it to me has no idea of those keys, they also gave it to me that way and have not been able to get them.
I have tried to boot from a USB but it does not recognize it.
I would like to know if there is any way (given the circumstances, I think it should be better by hardware and not through apps) to be able to remove those restrictions and update the S.O. (from W10 to W8.1).
Can you still format the S.O.drive?
Thanks and regards.

What opportunities do you have at all?
1. If this is the factory default password - contact Dell Support and they will help You, but You must be the owner of this computer! You must be able to confirm that You are owner and this is not stolen product.

Support site:

https://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/en-us/contactus/Dynamic?spestate?ref=contactus&lwp=rt

2. If someone has put own password and if You don't know it, You need to try different methods that are available. I'll give You couple links. Maybe they can help.

NB! This not specially for Your version, but it contains some useful info for You

Hi @Kalju,
No, it is not a stolen tablet. It belonged to a company that removed it from its computer inventory for a long time (6 years) and gave it to an employee.
In the links I have seen that there are those who do business selling keys. Surely there are "cheaper" ways to fix it.
Thanks and regards.

Your only BEST option is to get it worked out by Dell Itself. OFC they will charge you for it as it is out of warranty.

check it out

Not sure links provided by @Kalju but it looks authentic

As it's a tablet, you should be able to boot into recovery mode, and then do a hard factory reset from there.

Latitude 10 (ST2 and ST2E) only support booting to x32 bit UEFI images.

Go here, and use the tool to download and build a recovery USB : https://www.dell.com/support/contents/en-uk/article/product-support/self-support-knowledgebase/data-storage-backup-and-recovery/backup-recovery/media-backup

"Use Dell OS Recovery Tool to download an image and create a USB flash drive that will install the factory version of Windows that was shipped on your device. Driver and software updates will be required after installation. "
