Atasas
Hi folks!Purchased item is meant to be used for capture of audio from different devices.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EasyCap-USB-Video-Capture-Adapter-Supports-PAL-NTSC_W0QQitemZ320421973029QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=fb163bd31250a0e203014f81ff7ee274^like that one^I have managed to install all the drivers and configure it to record .I can record (possibly) full stream no probs. I have recorded M$ AVI file (that is possible to record in), but format is wrong. Is there simple way to record Audio in MP3 format from a device that is trying to catch signal in combined Video format?I did try many good sound recording apps like Total Recorder; PowerSoundEditor etc, but none is capable to do such task. Thanks!

shought
Splitting audio from video? AVI file you say?Funny you should mention it's from all kinds of old records, because I've got one golden oldie that might help you:VirtualDubOpen the .AVI file > File > Save WAV. I do believe it will be uncompressed WAV, so very big and you'll have to encode it afterwards to make it smaller, but it's a road you could take ;)Edit: I don't think this is exactly what you wanted, but might be worth a shot if there are no other options. Administrator DKT27 Posted January 4, 2010 Administrator Share Posted January 4, 2010 I don't know if it's the ripping program you want but if you want a simple and free converter that will convert avi to mp3, you may like to try Format Factory. HX1
Okay so wait your taking input from Live audio and running Line-In input in a player and trying to capture the sound? I have two recommendations, for that. One is my Favorite Software.. Sony Sound Forge 10.. You have complete control over the recording Volume, and tools to cleanup, and basically go Studio on the file that is created. Usually pretty simple if you have some experience and do some testing for what works. Zoom and see the peak ranges and check or improve the quality while also being able to add Tags and encode/save into just about any format. Another great Software I have come to love and use is Adobe Soundbooth...great Mastering effect really takes it up a notch, along with many control and tweaks.. create effect and sound envelopes( same with Sony.. Quite nice.. Just two off the top of my head.. One more program that should be able to capture from the device and be able to render several options would be Ableton Live Suite...takes some experience with the program and some poking around but a lot of tools.. still may need something to really polish off the file with that one though.. just depends.. These can all be professional quality products if you know how to use them, and have the system to handle some of the more intensive processes.. be good to check the minimum requirements for them.. Atasas
Once (for a very long time) I'm just about to give up...Pinnacle studio- file corrupt,Last tool tested- Nero (nero soundMax)- PC still crashes, funnily enough- it wasn't crashing on a first day of play about.? That's all.
shought
So you're saying nothing is able to convert the files from .WAV to .MP3?
Atasas
So you're saying nothing is able to convert the files from .WAV to .MP3?Nah! I wouldn't post here such thing...I can not to get driver (composite video) to get recognised to any audio recording app in order to get one click recording
shought
I see that, but wouldn't it be an idea to, instead of one click recording, make it a two click recording process? So first get it on your PC, in whichever form, and then try to convert it?
HX1
With that problem, I would see only one solution as far as my knowledge is concerned with this.. You would need to capture the video and the audio in separate files.. Then use something like MediaCoder, to put the two files together.. Might even be able to capture the the video and audio together with MediaCoder.. I could be wrong though it has been awhile since I had it installed..They would probably need to be converted beforehand, separately into formats that will work for the function.. Or you could use Sony Vegas Pro to put down the video and audio track synchronized in a time line.. then save it as an output file..If you can't get anything to record the video input you might try Webcam XP.. to acquire the input and then record it... then use the above method to put the two together. Again however, Vegas and WebcamXP are not free.. for the functions you need.
Atasas
tanks heath, but even sony (old version, from my collection) cant record anything (recognise drivers as audio input ) separately- to get and record in composite video signal (huge space) and then to convert-(load of albums) , none provide ability to use (in sys audio) or else to hear on what you are listening/recording, then to convert... (big collection really)way too much hassle to get thingy rolling...@ shought- no it wouldn't physically- too much time and effort...
HX1
Can you hear the audio being jacked-in? Sound Forge on my system will allow me to easily record audio that is being played back through the system.. You don't really select an input.. (kind of like recording an old tape to another one) Yo have to start the recorder then start in the input and capture it as a wave.. at which point (when finished) you trim the dead space or trailing space at the beginning and ending of the video then save it as the format you want..MP3 or w/e afterward..The video capturing/recording is something I can't even do on my system.. video card is too weak mixed with not enough processor power.. So if you have gotten that worked out then Vegas/MediaCoder should be able to put the two files together, if you match the time line, encoding that needs to be on each one..(otherwise you get out of sync audio/video, this can be adjusted with Vegas because it allows you to use each as a separate track for playback, but the end result or rendered file is one..
