Iron includes other notable unique features. In contrast to Chrome, it implements the latest version of the WebKit rendering engine, and includes built-in ad blocking.Download

Night Owl
Wow, thanks for the update! Recently, I've been checking almost daily for an update to the SRWare Iron 4.0.227 Beta. I should have known that jalaffa would find it right away. Thank you!

Night Owl
Interesting. For sure, SRWare Iron doesn't have an updater that loads on every start of Windows to see if there is a newer version of the browser and then to update it automatically without your consent. Google Chrome definitely has this.

Night Owl
I just made an interesting discovery. If you install Google Chrome through one of the standalone installers available at nsane.down, then no GoogleUpdate executable or process is installed on your machine. :dance2: However, if you install Google Chrome through the regular online install, GoogleUpdate will get installed.I just installed Google Chrome (Dev Channel) on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 machine and the "About Google Chrome" window says:Google Chrome4.0.288.1 stable...Update server not available (error: 3)The update server error is because there is no GoogleUpdate file to run.Proof 1: There is also another benefit in downloading this standalone installer. It doesn't contain the Google Update EXE file.Proof 2: While offline installer is convenient but it has a downside – this version of browser cannot auto-update for new fixes and feature. For new version, you need to manually download the standalone file again. Now that I don't have the GoogleUpdate executable running at every Windows startup, I like Google Chrome and SRWare Iron about the same now. Actually, I'm like heath28m and I don't like SRWare Iron's icon. I like Google Chrome's icon and the "Google" to the left of the minimize button.Hmmm, when I get back to my Windows XP PC, I'm going to uninstall Google Chrome and then re-install it with the standalone installer. :dance2:
