Hey guys I dont think this post should have been here but need desperate advice on assemblong a PC....

Would only go for AMD processors....

I m confused whether AMD 64 or Sempron

As I have a tight budget AMD 64 and the assosiated motherboard I think might be out of my budget.....

So Sempron..... Which one that is price to performance ratio.....

And a fitting motherboard....

And a decent graphics card......

Though I would be spending in Rs I will give a rough $ estimate....

All this for $225 ie Processor+Motherboard+(Preferably inbuilt Graphics Card+Sound Card)

You will need at least a gig of ram.

I went for being a cheap-ass and getting 512. Don't make my mistake.

Use your current HD, if you can.

Just scrap as much stuff as you can from your old comp, into your new one.

512mb RAM should be fine for atleast the current time.... under any case RAM is easy to upgrade. Gett additional RAM when/ IF you need it.

I personally suggest spending the extra few $'s on the AMD 64 socket 939 versions.... these feature numerous advantages over the semprons and there socket 754 "brothers". If not the Sempron's should be fine for the next few years atleast.

If your planning on gaming dont bother getting inbuilt graphics.... they are terrible.

I was just going thru the website and the site is   really confusing....

Getting a hang of the site.....

the AMD 64 itself has given me 49 results within the price range of $100 to $250......

They have 3 versions of AMD 64 itself....

Thanks a lot for the site nsane :P

Really a good site going thru it right now.....

Do u know any site which gives performance comparisions between motherboards.... I might increase my budget as I will be purchasing the system on installments...

first, the second one is for a socket 754 mobo (older/slower)...

any ways, the last one would be the best. since it come with SSE3 support (that being, pretty much, the only difference)
