optical port on lg tv

I have an LG tv which is 1 or 2 yrs old. It has an optical port on the back of it for audio so it is possible to use head phones on it. I was told by LG customer support, that in order to use headphones, I will have to get a adapter like the following:

Would I be able to connect a usb bluetooth adapter like the following:

and connect it to the 1st link item, connect them to a tv and use bluetooth headphones without issues?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Okay. I have some good news and some bad ones. Good news:  As long as the jack from your bluetooth transmitter fits in your optical adapter it will work.

The bad news is, if you are planning on listening to television with bluetooth headphones, you could have problems with latency. The audio won't be in sync with the video. Just like an eighties kung fu B movie lol

You will need a transmitter with low latency  APTX technology. And they are a bit more expensive.You definitely don't need that to listen to music on your phone.But it's a must for video watching.

YES, this arrangement would work fine. No prob with the Optical to 3.5mm audio and then on to bluetooth for transmitting. I looked at all 3 of your links,

So I was thinking on going with the bottom link since this is only 1 adapter instead of 2. And this would work without issues? I am just making sure before i order.

Because the seller in your last link, on EBAY, the satisfaction rate is not the best, coming from the buyers, also it looks like it comes from China and the due date is like (3 wks) from order date. I'm also not a fan of unbranded products, but I realize that some are A-OK. The link I gave for a similiar product is a bit more in costs, $29.99, but....it does have the APTX that reduces the lag involved. ( If you're using video and audio, syncing could be an issue, otherwise it wouldn't matter). But mostly because the link I gave does not have a (3 week) delay before receiving. The time from ordering is 8 days or less with given link and seller, and the seller has (99.6%) rated score for customers' positive likes. I believe your last link had a seller with 96% with about 15% negative views..Hope this helps. If the $29.99 is too much, and you're not using video, but just audio, your link is fine, absolutely.

 

Here's another link, just seen. It's $24.99 and has APT-X and APTX-LL and Fast Stream for receiving. But it does come from China, but it arrives sooner than your 2nd link. I think it was close to 14 days as opposed to 21 days.

 

Another Product on EBAY - $25
