Flat Cat6 cables with regular rj45 connectors

I bought this great looking flat black 75' cat6 cable.

I tested it before doing anything with  it and my speed was the same. The problems started when I tried to put regular connectors on this cable after cutting it. The wires are 30awg instead of the 25awg found in round cat6 cables.

This means that the wires are to flimsy to insert and not thick enough to go thru their respective lanes. This quickly became an impossible job.

Luckily, you have EZ-rj45 connectors:  3xRsQIR.jpg

Notice the small attachment on the right? You simply pass your wires in it, put it inside your connector and crimp.

So, if you're planning on buying this sort of cable use EZ-rj45 connectors.

Another problem was trying to remove the sleeve covering the wires. The cat tool I have couldn't remove it without stripping the interior wires.

The lesson to learn here is that if you want to buy these cables make sure you don't need to shorten them.
