AZwaffelForAWaff
When it comes to paying for VPN's, what is the safest payment method with as little tracing as possible? Cash is probably not a viable option. Bicoin maybe?
TownVirtuoso
Yeah crypto is probably your best option, but I believe Mullvad had an option to pay with cash. Never tried it myself so can't confirm that it's legit.
Marcus Thunder
Only if you use crypto the hard way and store the keys offline by paper or using specific applications to do so. Popular wallets & trading services all require ridiculous id verification procedures.

Linux and win are simply OS, traceability depends on the app that is used. (Let's imagine using chrome under linux and tor under win.)

(Let's imagine using chrome under linux and tor under win.) Windows 10 collects just about every information on your activities under the sun. That's why some Tor developers are still using Windows 7. Chrome under Linux is dangerous too as it isn't completely open source. It is licensed as proprietary software (cf. Google Chrome.) Tor under Windows 10? (What did I just say about Windows 10?) Tor under Android OS? (Smartphones are a no no)
