Be careful when using avast & avg products, they spy on our PC

Read here more detail about this:

Avast Scandal: Why We Stopped Recommending Avast & AVG

nsane staff must stop the supports for these crappy apps and remove from the suggestions

You can do so by making a post under Site/Forum feedback.

unfortunately, there are no better free AVs out there...we're kinda forced to use avast/avg (or nothing, like me at the moment)

As for Symantec Endpoint Protection, the client version looks like freeware, but certain features requires license to be installed.

I'm talking about FREE AVs.

kaspersky now has a free version, but it is severely crippled, almost no options can be changed.

eset is not free

don't know about bitdefender.

that's why I stick to avast/avg despite some issues they might have.they are by far the best free av solutions.

DjDiabolik

This newest version has changed an important things!!!!

In Realtime scanning...... if you open a .RAR or an archive (for example a crack picked from this forum) and the scanner found a THREAD inside the archive it's DELETE completely the .rar opened and add it's to VIRUS TRASHCAN.

It's a useless things and this feature it's can be changed!!! It's possible ??

If you do a scanner of your pc you can select to not scan the archive files......... ok it's very ok feature but currently you can't choose to NOT scan the archive in realtime.

I have read the discussion about AV Free.... Avast it's a good alternative... it's not so much heavy for a OS and works good also in a NOT high-end PC config. The most important things it's not BREAK the b**ls to the users and suggest to him to pass to the premium version every 10 minutes whit ads notification or other similar things.

If you run the client (without the manager) you don't have to pay as its Corp software and it mainly run's with manager, (in most cases) but it can be run on its own without payment. Hope this makes things clearer

I know, but what I talk is about certain extra features (but considered as optional) like sample submission in the unmanaged client can only be used with a license. Even without the license, you can still use it as usual anti-virus replacement.
