Windows 10 has had more than its share of issues over the years, with buggy updates causing a wide variety of problems for users. The May 2020 Update is nearly ready for release, and will no doubt bring with it another set of woes for many when it does arrive.

With Windows 7 no longer supported, Windows 10 is really the only game in town for those who want to use Microsoft’s OS. But perhaps we should be consigning it to the past and looking to the future with the gorgeous, and much more modern, Windows 20.

Serial concept creator Kamer Kaan Avdan, who has previously released videos for updated versions of Windows 95Windows XPWindows 7, and Windows 11, as well as Apple’s version of Windows 10, today turns his attention to showing us what Windows 20 might look like.

This is Avdan’s most ambitious creation to date. It’s taken him 35 days to get right, during which time he tried a number of presentation and design techniques, and the end result definitely looks different from his other works.

Highlights of this concept include more attractive icons, a customizable taskbar that lets you choose from versions with centered icons and and/no Start button, interactive Start menu tiles, a stylish File Explorer with tabs, a brand new Settings app, and a redesigned Tablet Mode.

There's a new Action Center, Dark and Darker Modes, overhauled Search UI, dynamic wallpapers, and that thing that Windows users have craved for years from Microsoft -- consistent design.

What do you think of this Windows 20 concept? Let me know in the comments below.

To me it looks more like a visual based on portable environments, like tablets. But nice. :D

This is quite fast work for a visual concept, but it won't do much without any codes.

Windows "20", I'd rather assume it is translated to a joke that Microsoft will need another 20 years to make such OS :D

Looks like most is about the GUI.

What is underneath (capabilities, interaction with devices, security, etc.) is more important.

What do you guys  see in Zorin ? Because  it looks like Windows  out the box because it has a modified version  of Gnome other than that it's just Ubuntu it's like Microsoft Edge another chromium browser with a diffident skin and cloud services  But  Zorin don't have billions of dollars too take on the likes of M$ like M$ has to take on Google !

Linux Mint was made for that reason because users didn't like Gnome and then Unity and now Gnome again and it free  you dont need a pirated ISO  to get to  Pro version.  Gnome itself  is meant to be like MAC OS. But Ubuntu fixed it were you could move the Task bar down to the bottom again years ago . So any flavor of Ubuntu thats not Gnome can easily  be riced to look like Windows  or  anyway you want its open source  so the sky is the limit .

With Zorin  , e OS  and Mint  you're sort of stuck in the  box to the limited DE they  have .Most hobby enthusiast distros  only have 1 or 2 flavors  to chose from with Manjaro being a exception because it's based on Arch . All the big Linux  companies all  have tons  of flavors /DE  to chose from  . Real Linux users are not interested in Zorin and all the reasons to use Linux Mint  like preinstalled  Codecs  are not present anymore its just like Ubuntu to install Codecs  you have to check a box to download them  because it's not legal to ship them preinstalled  in the USA.

Manjaro ISO still comes with codecs  but it  has the same caveats as Windows 10  bleeding edge updates  that going to leak over into stable updates  and blow your OS up sooner or latter . Linux has rolling releases like Microsoft  does . But they also have very stable releases like Ubuntu and Debian for free  to consumers . Microsoft still have stable releases for Enterprise but consumers can't use them unless  they know someone that will illegally sell them Long Time Service or use KMS . Only General releases of Windows Enterprise , Pro and home can really be activated  to   the Windows BIOS. If your going to pirate Linux like Zorin you may as well just pirate Windows 10 LTSB  or LTSC.

Windows consumers have 0 support other than buggy updates you are the beta testers for  Windows for business they want even sell home users support . Linux users have 0 support unless you pay but  there no difference in the OS its all LTS Enterprise grade unless you use Arch , Alpha , Beta or some other rolling release.

Only Windows converts are interested in pirating Linux and only some big Enterprises is interested in paying for Linux and thats only  because they noobs that need company  support  . Windows consumers dont have no support anymore they use you as support . Linux consumers have no support expect  for forums ,websites  and blogs  from volunteers.

The difference  is most Linux volunteers work in enterprise  or know how to code software so they know how to commit bug fixes to the software vendors. Windows is still closed source . Insiders can only report bugs  as they arise but they can't see the code or commit bug fixes. So Microsoft will sometimes will post documentation to fix a bug a month before there Devs  make the updates. Only System Admins or the technically inclined   will know how to apply the fix  or they have Opatch.

On Linux  upstream volunteers write  the updates some of them work for Google , Amazon , Facebook , Netflix  , Oracle ,Microsoft ,Linux foundation  etc , etc etc . they all have one thing in conman they all profit from using open source software and Linux . You get updates 5 days a week .Only thing required to profit off open source  is to give back to the community . Microsoft  charges people who profit off Windows and they also charge consumers a flat fee to beta test for them.

Only way consumers will get stable windows  will be if they turn   it into pure freeware were they make as much money on adware/ spyware as Google does or they  charge you by the year or month . Or if they charge you 3 prices for Microsoft hardware and the price of the OS is in the hardware. That what apple does  they only have one Desktop  OS version for everyone,  all of it is enterprise grade . But you pay lots for the hardware you run it on. Only OSes that are good for production and privacy that are Enterprise grade for free is Linux. Google OSes  are for Education and consumption  and there free to use but they will cost you your privacy . If  Google had to give you privacy  they would charge as much as Apple .
