DVDFab is all-in-one DVD copying/converting/burning software. @French Can Can Although all your patches have worked fine so far but why everytime the main .exe file remains as old version even when the newer version is patched. (The main DVDFab64.exe still shows as v11.0.8.0 after patching, where as it should be v11.0.8.1?). In about section it shows newer version though and behaves also like one but could you please elaborate a little as to what kind of a patch DVDFab_ver._11.0.8xx_-_x86_x64_FULL is this.  A generic patch does not behave like this, so what does it patch? No offense intended buddy, just curious. Thanks.

It seems like the loader is always the same. Its ChVL patch from 11.0.8.0, which French Can Can does thank him. The main program exe is always the same too since the loader would complain if it wasn't. I guess another file must state the version number when you start the program since that always does show the correct one. I just wonder is something it missing with the updates when he always keeps the main exe the same.

the patch is not to be considered generic, in fact, to date there is no generic patch for DVDFab (Note: Important: it was called "DVDFab ver. 11.0.8xx - x86 FULL" for simplicity).
The exe used is that of 11.0.8.0 and must be so otherwise the loader will not work.
Consider that it is a temporary patch but that still makes the registered program work almost as 11.0.8.1, in fact the real "work" of conversion, removing protections, Enlarger Al, etc. exe 11.0.8.0 does not do this but rather the rest of the files contained in the installation folder of DVDFab and therefore the program works, after applying the patch, almost like having registered 11.0.8.1.
Of course, as mentioned in previous posts, it is free choice of those who want to use it or not, or maybe there are those who prefer to buy the program and not use the patch, free choice as mentioned above.

For the portable version, it would be nice of you to add the credits to Dave Green, in his memory, since the launcher was created using his tools. But it's your choice. Thanks for the effort in saving the project.

I didn't credit Dave Green because the original launcher contained errors and I had to modifications.
In fact the original launcher was not 100% portable leaving some folders visible in some directories when the program was closed.
Among other things the original launcher did not automatically set the language of the program at startup based on the language used by the operating system.
The settings they didn't come maintained and restored even startup original launcher.
The DVDs and the converted audio and video files, after my modifications, are moved to the folder of the portable program on exit and restored on startup.
It also did not allow the program to connect to the Internet and download some files necessary for IOS Screen Recorder to work (in the 32-bit version), Enlarger Al, DRM Removal for Apple, UHD Drive Tool and other files necessary for the correct functioning of the program that itself downloads from the Internet when removing DVD protections, audio and video conversions, etc.
For these and other reasons I recommend not to block DVDFab's Internet access from the firewall.

I had noticed some modifications and corrections you have executed. I discussed some of these problems with him but, unfortunately, he didn't have sufficient time to solve them and we lost a good person. Anyway, remembering him it's not a bad action.

I will do this by including the thanks in the "Readme" file contained within the .rar on the next release of a new version of DVDFab (Portable).

For the Firewall rules I don't think something can be done because I believe that the numbers of registry keys always change and they are never the same in every PC.

 

I see no other leftovers. In my opinion, it's a well made work. I hope you will not abandone it. I also noticed that, sometimes, it has license problems, during the start, difficult situation to reproduce, to be sure I will test it on other systems.

 

For licensing problems I was unable to reproduce the bug, if you follow the instructions contained in the "Readme" file inside the .rar it does not give me any problem, if you can reproduce the bug describe me in detail the problem. Greetings and see you soon.

The bug occurs when you have installed the standard version on the PC with installer + add my FULL, open the standard program then close the standard program and then also access the portable version on the same PC.
In this case the Anti-Piracy warning is displayed for once on both versions (standard and portable).
But it seems normal to me that the program behaves in this way as it detects another installation (standard or portable) and the license files are not the same but are replaced in the same folder.

No, thanks for checking but it's not my case. I never installed or used other versions but the PC I used for the test it's not perfect. So, I must optimize it or execute the test on another PC but, unfortunately, I'm blocked... What you wrote is right, we can't pretend using the installed version and the portable one at the same moment. I haven't checked but I suppose the settings of a possibly installed version are preserved by the launcher.

I am ready and I am testing a new version of the portable and also the FUll with a real and really working Anti-Piracy.
The Anti-Piracy warning is no longer displayed (unless you work on the standard installer version + on the portable on the same PC).
And the program can connect to the Internet, as I recommend, and download the files necessary for its proper functioning.
I await the next release of a new version of the program and put the links here on the forum.
