Karlston
Netflix releases final CG Ghost in the Shell trailer ahead of April 23 premiere "Public Security Section 9 has reassembled." Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 final trailer. Netflix just posted the final trailer for its Ghost in the Shell CG anime reboot titled Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 to YouTube, and the trailer names a premiere date for the series: April 23. Like the beloved 1995 anime film by Mamoru Oshii, this series is derived from the manga by Shirow Masamune. This series is helmed by Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex writer Kenji Kamiyama, as well as Shinji Aramaki, who worked on another Masamune adaptation called Appleseed. According to this trailer, character designs are by Ilya Kuvshinov (2019's The Wonderland) and features music by Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi (Halo 5, Ultraman, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots). The series will star voice actors returning to reprise their roles from Stand Alone Complex. Fans have been divided, though, by the series' 3DCG art style, which emulates some of the distinctive markers of hand-drawn anime with computer-generated graphics. While a similar approach was praised in the Amazon series Land of the Lustrous, some fans have been vocal that they feel it's not a fit for Ghost in the Shell. You can watch the trailer and make that call for yourself, of course. If you're able to adjust to the new look, a new story starring Major Motoko Kusanagi, from much of the talent behind the well-received Stand Alone Complex series, awaits. The scripts in the trailer declare that, in the year 2045, "Public Security Section 9 has reassembled." Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 will be a Netflix exclusive when it premieres on April 23.
