TinyWall has been designed to improve the default firewall of Windows. TinyWall lets you work while protecting you. There are no annoying popups but configuration is very simple. Using the advanced Windows Firewall built into newer Windows versions, TinyWall's performance impact is negligible. No drivers or kernel-components are installed so it does not influence system stability. Automatic learning, blocklists, password lock, firewall tampering protection and built-in tight firewall rules help increase TinyWall's and your computer's security even further. Firewall modes and lots of other convenience features make TinyWall extremely easy to use for anybody. All packed into a download that is about a megabyte.

Thanks to frankl1n for the update.

FWIW, I've just posted a Guide/Review (to v3.0) here...

v3.0.1 looks like a bug fix to v3.0, so this review should still be relevant.

The good news is that there are no special upgrade considerations. If you are running version 2.1.x, you can just run the installer of 2.99.x (or 3.0 when it is released) and be done with it. Your firewall settings will be automatically migrated, so you do not need to export and then import them. Your GUI settings will be reset to default values. There is also no reboot necessary (and if the the installer tells you otherwise, it is a sign that something is wrong).

WF can be left enabled (in its default state) or disabled as the user prefers. I generally recommend leaving it enabled for two reasons. First, it is easier and less work to leave it alone than to disable it explicitly. Second, if you disable WF, and then later decide for whatever reason to uninstall TinyWall, there is a chance that you'll forget re-enabling WF thus leaving you completely unprotected. EDIT: It is important to note though that WF is the only firewall that TinyWall supports running with in parallel. It is best and strongly recommended to disable any other firewalls (including other WF-controllers).
