Windows 12 Lite is here, and it doesn’t have any built-in ads

We’ve joked on occasion that Microsoft is now so immersed in the open-source world that they might as well use Linux as their next kernel.

Now it seems some distro developers did just that, releasing Windows 12 Lite into the world.

Being sold at computer fairs, and spotted by redditor hexsayeed, Windows 12 Lite is a Linux distro based on LiteOS with a Windows 10 wallpaper and is being touted as the perfect software for Windows 7 users who need to upgrade.

Touted as being secure, free from viruses and ransomware, and being 3 times faster than Windows they note that the OS contains no adverts and has a great support forum.

We suspect Microsoft may have some words with them regarding the software shipping with the default Windows 10 wallpaper, however.

Read more about Windows 12 Lite before Microsoft’s ban hammer strikes, at their website here.

I thought all Linux distro's are free?

And did I forgot to mention that it was made by so-called "independent developers" with lousy website design skills?

Plus, the so-called Windows 12 Lite is actually a Linux Lite OS with XFCE interface. I can call that Windows 12 Lite a scam.

That's a common misconception. Just because they're open source doesn't mean they (the developers/companies) can't put a price tag on it. Red Hat Enterprise Linux is a prime example of this. Just to clarify, I'm only trying to address your first question and I have nothing against the rest of your statement.

Most are free  ,  if  you want pay  its most of the time for support  . Redhat , ZorinOS and others have paid versions  ,but  if you want Redhat without soupprt It's called Cent OS lots of businesses  use  Cent OS instead   or both . ZoirnOS has free versions as  well .  You can make almost any DE of Linux look like  Windows or MAC  i done it  before with Linux Mint cinnamon  it was not hard  just adding some ppas with Themes and icons but to do this  you got to know a little about using Linux . But calling something windows  when M$ owns the  trademark  dont sound really legal.

That's why I said earlier that it was made by so-called "independent developers" with lousy website design skills.  Or to make it simple, I called that "Windows 12 Lite" as a scam.
