This is not even theoretically possible. If someone's Windows 10 install boots properly, then they apply an update, and then their install BSOD's, it's not unreasonable for them to conclude that the update caused the BSOD. It may very well turn out to be third-party hardware or software that reacted badly to the update, but it's still the update that triggered the BSOD. If that's true, time will reveal it. (And questions may be asked why Microsoft's much vaunted Windows Insiders didn't pick it up.) Also, it's rare that everyone is affected by the same problem. Most systems will handle a given update fine, but some may not. This is an important thing to realise.
Matrix
Have to agree with @Kalju all these reported problems are more than likely caused by many or a combination of many other things mostly operator error I have installed all updates with no problems using the latest 64-bit version 1909 (OS Build 18363.628) with Windows Defender disabled and running no Anti-virus. dhjohns
I applied update to family living room computer. No issues at all. I have actually never had issues with any updates so I wasn't expecting any. Some people just have bad karma.
Matrix
Just to add to what I have already said above I have two modern all-in one Pc's (less than 12mths old) a desktop that came with Win 8.1 pre-installed and a laptop (My Traveller) that came with Win 7 all these machines now are on Win 10 64-bit version 1909 and working fine with this latest update applied in regards to drivers I never search for newer drivers only except those Windows Update installs IMO most of these BSOD's are caused by incorrect drivers installed by misguided users.
