EC7778
Hi Folks,  I'm NEW to this topic. But I joined in the group last summer, 2019. And haven't had a chance to chat. 😊  Have any of you had experiment with 2TB USB Flash drive???  I bought a 2TB USB flash drive on ebay, which was from China for my nephews for Christmas of last year, 2019. I bought it for $4.99 USD.  It was already format as exFAT.  I heard that people said they tried and when they reached up to 38 GB, it re-writes and lost everything. Or when Windows occurs that there's an Error that needed to be scan. IF you do that, you loose half of the files on the 2TB USB flash drive.  My 33 years old nephew examen and text messaged me and said that "Those Chinese fools us! They added a so-called 'Microcontroller" that fools Windows to think that it's the actual 2TB capacity. But it's NOT, it turned out to be a smaller size than you think."  My Windows OS is Windows 7 Ultimate. IF you're curious.  I tested the 2TB flash drive by using "MyDisk Fix Format Utility". It does say that this 2TB flash drive is a Microcontroller.  I format the 2TB flash drive as NTFS with NO problem when I was up to 29 GB.  After I format as in NTFS, it showed that the capacity is 1.90 TB.  When the files is up to 29 GB, the files seems to remain in the 2TB flash drive. HOWEVER, when it comes to video files, Windows Media Player tool couldn't play videos that was copied onto the 2TB flash drive!!! The video file is fine on the my hard drive, but when copy and paste onto the 2TB flash drive, and I doubled check it, it won't play, there.  Anyway, here's my question for you....  IF 2TB flash drive does exist.....  Then what brand makes that is "RELIABLE" on THEIR 2TB flash drive that I could buy from??? With NO PROBLEM...  I saw one on ebay which is from Los Angeles, CA. and it sells 512 flash drives and 2TB flash drives and work with Windows. And their flash drives looks like "ScanDisk Cruzer 3.0" design.  I inquired this same issue to the ebayer in L.A. He said... "From 38 GB up to 2TB".  The one I bought for $4.99 from China on ebay, looks like smaller silver and skinny flash drive that's a little longer than a dime. It's like a key change with a hook on one end of the flash drive.  Any places you might knows that has TRUE 2TB flash drive with NO PROBLEM and that all software would comply to the file that's in it???  Enclosed to ebay link of that flash drive from China.  Thanks for reading my inquiry. Kalju
In fact, it's so that this kind of thing has been around for about 2+ years already, but of course they doesn't cost $4.99 and they are not very similar to typical (old) USB flash drives/datatravelers Here is an example of some of Kingston's 2017 data Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT specifications: Capacities: 1TB, 2TB Speed: USB 3.1 Gen. 1 Dimensions: 72mm x 26.94mm x 21mm Operating Temperature: -25°C to 60°C Storage Temperature: -40°C to 85°C Warranty: 5-year warranty with free technical support Compatible with: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 (SP1), Mac OS 10.9.x and above, Linux v.2.6.x and above, Chrome OS If you fancy one, head over to the Kingston website to take a look. https://www.kingston.com/us/usb-flash-drives/datatraveler-ultimate-gt-usb-flash-drive Their price is a bit different, for example, available in my area Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT - USB Flash Drive - 1 TB - USB 3.1 CODE: DTUGT/1TB Price € 889.27 2TB is currently out of stock. Karlston
2TB for only $4.99 should be an enormous red flag (no pun intended). Â If you paid by PayPal, lodge a dispute and get your money back. IIRC, you must do it within 180 days of the purchase.
funkyy
Israeli_Eagle and bayer...have some pity on the guy, he got conned. I have to confess that I got conned out of some money once (in a completely different situation) and it was a lesson sorely learned. But afterwards he should also only laugh, because luckily only $5 gone. It's much worse when people buy fake graphics cards for 50 bucks!  And the lesson is: Never buy anything from Wish.com!!

ajdibi
The most popular tool used to test the real capacity of drives is H2testw. I always run this on new memory cards and flash drives to ensure that they are not fake, especially when buying from Amazon or eBay. Israeli_Eagle
Or try instead a real SSD or HDD, because "Flash" only means "Dead-Slow".

They offer 5 years of brand warranty. Works flawlessly with android phones with Type-C USB port (my S8+ and S9+). It has a read speed of 150+ MB/s and a write speed of 30+ MB/s. It certainly is more bang for bucks.

Absolutely correct!! I prefer NEVER to take a chance on a "bargain" when it comes to computer hardware...better to pay for quality than regret paying for junk. Anyway, as new products/versions appear the prices for older ones drop and you can get quality at an affordable price. Thanks @ajdibi for the nice link! So......... I strongly recommend a bit school before touching any computers.  P.S.: And NO, you cannot buy brain. (Sorry guys if I talk too openly...
