Media Player Classic Home Cinema, fork by clsid, is a free and open-source video and audio player for Windows. MPC-HC is based on the original Guliverkli project and provides a huge amount of features. The new Media Player Classic Home Cinema has anti-tearing options, subtitle synchronisation, support for latest OSes, 32bit and 64bit, has additional video decoders and in particular H.264 and VC-1 with DXVA support, support for EVR renderer and a lot more. But probably the best thing about this player is the range of formats it supports. It'll play just about anything you throw at it, whether it's an MP3, an Ogg, a MP4 or even a WEBM file. It supports almost all the video and audio codecs, from H.264 to H.265 (HEVC) to even AV1, from MP3 to AAC and a lot more.

Thanks to Astron for the update.

The official portable is just no-install, it writes settings to the registry. It becomes portable when you add the .ini file same name with the executable. Maybe you should add this to front page links from  now on

Hi @mrpink

The download links we provide are from where developers host their files.

If there's an issue with their portable version, you should take up this up with them so they can look into and/or fix it.

Of course Members are free to post their own portable version in a Topic.

@Major Banned file host removed from your post.

Use free hosts e.g. Upload.ee, Datafilehost.com, Solidfiles.com, Zippyshare.com, Mega.nz, Mediafire.com, Yandex.disk, AnonFile.com, BayFiles.com

Is the registry coming back to normal when the option "Store settings to .ini file" is selected?

AFAIK (or I might have missed it) there is no 'official portable' version per se on mpc-hc site (it's not mentioned), there is a zip version that users can extract. It's then up to them to save the settings in the registry or in an ini file.

Is this different than the one mentioned in https://mpc-hc.org/about/

There the latest version mentioned is 1.7.13  of July 16, 2017

That is no longer developed. This is a fork based on the original Guliverkli project and contains many additional features and bug fixes.
