BUT... It can be limited enough that FB for example can never get the exact location or any private data

And you never know when they be some new 0day out there not disclosed

Well the thing is in recent years with so many privacy breeches you have to ask yourself what's next and better still what is our governments going to do with all the Metta Data collected and is location and user identity data collected ??

Of course it is all in the name of national security privacy on the internet can never be guaranteed sorry but that's the world we live in.

Because of that I said already... You should use a good VPN provider & system!!

For example there is no client app needed at all. :coolwink:

Heartbleed attack effected all vpns and even ssl  in your browser there no such thing as a good vpn when it comes  to 0days and weakness in libraries   . But as far as VPN clients were  you can block the known  leaks yourself some are better than others  but if you  know how to check for the leaks and  block them yourself none of this matter no way . It just means your a noob who don't how to block known leaks is all , so you blame it on the software because your depended on it .  Just  because you don't understand the risk involved.

I know all leaks etc usually, but only as a noob as you said. LMAO....... :lmao:

Luckily I'm professional and team leader, that's my job. And even the youngster colleagues here know already that not even the Pope or President Dump would ever get my IP, zero chance and that's already 30 years.

But again... Does not come from heaven and cannot be bought!!

We can all have that warm fuzzy feeling of security and privacy because we can hide behind even multiple VPN's simultaneously but perhaps the more you hide the more attention is drawn to you being a noob is not a bad thing hiding with the mass's in some cases may not be as bad as we think.

Lucky for me i learn early   and didn't start out  with a vpn client i used open vpn  and had to add my own 3rd party  DNS  and things  and every time a leak was discovered  i  learn how to plug it. Most VPN leaks was discovered  since 2014  so what you learned 30 years ago is no good most VPN leaks came from  IPv6 and stuff they added to browsers. Like WebRTC was not even in browsers before then.

It like that new tracking they  have out now were they can you track  you with 1st party cookies  i have list I  added to my ad-blocker  that blocks the 1st party tracking already because i seek solutions . same as when cryto mining came out i added list to block it.

Good that you not use any app for that. But OpenVPN is used too much nowadays, I use now a different and a bit less standard format. Is even faster, same strong encrypted and some extra stage to find out if somebody wants to try logging the traffic.

But IPv6 is still somehow Beta level and not really work in VPN anyway, should be better blocked.

Own DNS is good, but there are also better and clean ones of the world.

But I hope you use good VPN servers and should never be at your country where you live. Same about the provider.

Yeah....... Tunnels in tunnels in tunnels etc are cool, but you can also add TOR as well for the mix. And a strong CPU still laughs about it.

I just use My VPN client today and my VPN DNS   but  started with just Open VPN  years ago and it  teached me a lot about how to stop DNS leaks and I always turn IPV6 off on my systems . But security  and privacy is always evolving if you dont keep up you will be vulnerable .

Eh?? For what a VPN client? You need more servers and better a lot!!

And good servers are of course 101% WebRTC safe.

I know how to  check for leaks i blocked my real DNS on my system in the config file on Linux. 2 years ago  were if it was to leak it will be using another DNS  instead of mine i use 3rd party DNS as default. changing   DNS  and turning off ipv6 on Linux is different than on windows . When I on work on my  router i boot into windows  because i'm too lazy to edit the config file to use my real DNS . I learn  how to do  windows then latter i learn it on Linux  and it is really different.:tooth:

Isn't that the truth daily in fact !!

While we all have different levels of security/privacy depending on our own needs it must not be forgotten that there is always going to be some jackoff out there who will except the challenge to break our protection nothing is 100% safe tomorrow.

Thank you @Israeli_Eagle and @steven36 for your comments and input.

Unfortunately I have been reported by a visitor (FBI) as a national security risk :( :guns:

Time to close this topic now thanks again
