Any links to a working Repack of PDF-XChange Editor 8.0.334.0 x64-bit?

This is a compiled portable version x64 for minimalist (25 MB - no printer and OCR functions):

Spoiler

site: https://www.upload.ee
sharecode: /files/10712393/XC64_min.7z.html
pass 7z file:  nsane

If you want, you can add to the root (XC64_min) two dirs with subdirs taken from installed regular version:
1. languages = if you want use a language other than English
2. common = for all OCR functions

Normally, no - unless you had some problems with your previous version, or your settings got messed up somehow. I've always installed over the previous version and never had any problem.

Tested all the functions I normally use with v334.0 and it seems that Advertiser's x64 fix is good, I've not encountered any issues yet.

Warning: Elchupacabra's version has modified dlls that are not fully functional (which you might have suspected from the limited number of bytes-target);  for example they produce incorrect PDF->Office conversions, with passwords and watermarks, and do not allow the important functions "Enhanced OCR" !

Ok, you're right about the extended OCR plugin, it's not present.

But the conversion to Office docs works fine, no passwords and the generated files are OK.

I tried all three available options, docx, xlsx and pptx.

The PDF Printer works fine also, no watermark.

If that wasn't what you meant, please explain.

Disappearing text bug (after a while) is still present.

Cheers.

In the PDF->docx conversion I got read-only files with overlapping watermarks (other than the main round one).
I would suggest to run the tests after a complete reset (therefore please first delete the settings.dat file which can retain instructions from previous versions)
I never noticed until now the effects of "disappearing text"

Those LOOK like Soda's patches, but I doubt they are by him because they have severe flaws, like crashing the app if you try to remove passwords. On the other hand, @Advertiser's fix works flawlessly. So until we hear from Master Soda himself, we must consider Advertiser's as the best and truly Soda-identical fix. Thank you Sir Advertiser for your excellent work :notworthy:

No idea why the boner for Soda, he's clearly not the only one who can make working patches here... he's done good work sure, but with that others have learned from his work and the torch has been passed. It's like you spit in the face of Advertiser who made this fix by going "waiting for Soda, waiting for Soda, waiting for Soda". Wait for Soda all you want, keep those comments to yourself though, they add nothing to this discussion.

Yes, virge's and your fixes are the same. Have you tried removing a password from a secured file?

For the sake of completeness, I just did a clean install of El Chupacabra's repack on a newly formatted system.

Enhanced OCR is indeed included and works, file conversions all work, no passwords and not read only.

There is no settings.dat file.

Cheers.
