This is the latest WHQL driver for NVIDIA GeForce GPUs as well as TITAN desktop GPUs. NVIDIA GeForce drivers stand for compatibility, reliability, and stability with the widest range of games and applications. Game Ready for Red Dead Redemption 2
The new Game Ready Driver provides the latest performance optimizations, profiles, and bug fixes for Red Dead Redemption 2. Read up on recommended settings and GPUs for Red Dead in our article here. The new driver also includes the latest optimizations for Need for Speed Heat and Borderlands 3.

New G-SYNC Compatible Monitors
The list of G-SYNC Compatible displays increases to over 55 options with the addition of the LG B9, C9, and E9 4K OLED TVs. Make sure to update your firmware first for the best experience.

 

Top Issues and Updates:
-[Battlefield V][G-SYNC][HDR]: When G-SYNC and HDR are enabled, the game cannot be maximized to full-screen after being minimized to the taskbar. [200558314]
-[Grand Theft Auto V]: The game frequently crashes. -> NVIDIA is working with the application developer to resolve the issue.
-In HDR, black levels off on LG OLED65C9 [2738708] -> Fixed and will be in our next GRD
-Gears 5 may randomly crash -> [Fix] Run the game then go to task manager and right-click on Gears5 process, click on set priority and change it from High to Normal.

Notes:

1. Apparently, desktop and notebook drivers are the same (verified through file hashes), just that Nvidia renames them differently to separate the downloads page. Thanks to @jvidal and @Purple Trail for pointing this out.

2. With regards to point 1, standard and DCH drivers are not the same even though desktop and notebook drivers are the same. Therefore you have to check your driver type first through Nvidia Control Panel if you use the offline installer, or using GeForce Experience app that can determine which type of driver can be installed on your computer.

If you own both a desktop and a notebook computer with a modern nVidia gfx card, DO NOT download the notebook drivers, they're identical to the desktop ones, only with a different name (same file hashes).

this is very interesting, did actually Nvidia acknowledge this tho? and did anyone reported that they can install drivers on their notebook using desktop drivers?

 

but it's good to have a desktop and notebook drivers integrated into one installer.

It doesn't really matter, you can verify this yourself.

I have updated my post to reflect both of your point and @jvidal's point as well.

 

But still, had to differentiate between standard driver and DCH driver to avoid confusion and wrong driver installation when installing these drivers on Windows 10. You will need to open the NVIDIA Control Panel and refer to the System Information to determine what type of driver is installed (either DCH or Standard).

 

Also, NVIDIA DCH Display Drivers cannot be over-installed on top of NVIDIA Standard Display Drivers and NVIDIA Standard Display Drivers cannot be over-installed on top of NVIDIA DCH Display Drivers. This will lead to stability issues later on, especially on OEM systems (just like Intel Graphics Driver case).

By the way, I used the desktop driver (Standard Driver) to install on my notebook running Windows 10 (graphics under Standard Driver), installed without any problems.

If you don't want security updates, then yeah, sure, stay on old drivers forever...

I disagree. I had multiple multimedia softwares which requires for me to have up-to-date drivers on my system. Yeah, I too not a gamer.

 

Besides, there are few things you might need to know:

1. Nvidia no longer provide 32-bit updates from last year, starting with 4xx.xx version which is exclusive for 64-bit driver. So the only choice to be updated is to use 64-bit OS to continue received support.

2. Depending on your graphics card, some won't get updates at all. That depends with Nvidia developers tho, especially if there's a bug or an important hotfix.

 

If you want to really about Nvidia drivers, I suggest you follow their updates on GeForce Forums and dedicated Reddit thread for Nvidia drivers.
