mp68terr
Would suggest veracrypt (https://www.veracrypt.fr/en/Home.html). No problem with it. Used on win, now linux.

Rogerio Luar
Steganos.Safe,Rohos.Disk.Encryption,AxCrypt,Jetico BestCrypt,Folder Lock v7. It was bad the case ... I did some testing with these but needed that when putting the HD in a case for example would be impossible to access. These tools generate a safe that I can manage with passwords but every time I need to open the directory I would have to enter the password. The bitlocker would be ideal but it has some incompatibility with win7 and win10.

No point to encrypt the files/data in that case.

okru
Hi Rogerio Luar, here are several (in my opinion relative secure) possibilities (not complete buildup): 1.) "file" encryption : -VSFileEncrypt: (lokibit.com) (freeware and shareware) -Fort Crypto Extension v5.0.0.0 (shareware)* -Hyper Crypt v2.1.0.0: (hypercrypt.hexahedron.net) / (freeware) [website down now] 2.) "container" encryption: -VeraCrypt v1.24 final (v06Oct2019-sig): https://www.veracrypt.fr/en/Home.html (freeware) -BestCrypt Container Encryption: (jetico.com) / (shareware)* 3.) "whole disk" or/and partition encryption : VeraCrypt v1.24 final (v06Oct2019-sig): https://www.veracrypt.fr/en/Home.html (freeware) (!!!!!! but be aware of loss of data [if you are not an expert] / i´ve read very bad things in veracrypt forums...the answer is backup...backup...backup...!!!) * medicine available If you have special questions...ask me ! (but i´m an amateur) Regards
