I'm tempted by Ant Download manager, seems to have more features, like auto MP3 conversion, from videos. But have been using this for years. Does anyone know if it worth the switch?

I tried for a while to find a good alternative to IDM but those boys just nailed it, it is fast and reliable and most of all a clean interface (windows native style). So for me even ant downloader couldn't do the trick I just didn't like the UI.

anyway to set windows or IDM erase temporaly folder "DwnlData" when shutdown or restart PC

You can maybe set it as a task, in windows task scheduler:

First: create a file in note pad

forfiles -p "C:\Test" -s -m *.* /D -0 /C "cmd /c del @path"

change the directory to your DwnlData  instead odf C:\Test

save as .bat

Now you can schedule it to run on a reoccurring basis (every log in or shutdown as you please).

You can use any of the following two methods 👇

Method 1: (Uses Recycle.exe from CmdUtils)

BananaRecycle.rar

SHA-256 (rar): A596119A4E0D114A910E9B832ABF6356F2B9114AE718592ECA8F5C1EA2AA887C

Method 2: (Uses Powershell script by @TrojanK)

BananaPower.rar

SHA-256 (rar): A6DC056DFFB2B3475B654ED336EFC8BDC541AA2AA40BB292227867D6D110BCD2

Both of these methods delete "DwnlData" folder contents to the Recycle Bin.

Follow the instructions 👇 to make it run at computer startup

Instructions:

  1. Extract .rar file
  2. Create shortcut of .vbs file (select .vbs file, drag with right click and Create shortcuts here)
  3. Cut/Copy this shortcut
  4. Open Startup folder (press ⊞ Win+R, type shell:startup and press OK)
  5. Paste the shortcut

If you don't want it to run at startup, just remove the shortcut from Startup folder
