steven36
Blue Systems, a German IT company, is a major supporter and sponsor of KDE and Kubuntu. Over the years, the company has hired many developers for KDE development and contributed to the overall improvement of the Kubuntu operating system. In 2010, the company released Netrunner Linux distro, which was based on Kubuntu. Over the years, Netrunner has undergone many changes and it’s now available in two versions. While the fixed release version of Netrunner is based on Debian GNU/Linux, the rolling release version is based on Manjaro. Just recently, the developers released Netrunner 19.08 Indigo, which is based on Debian Buster 10. So, let’s discuss it in brief. What’s new in Netrunner 19.08 Indigo? Both the fixed and rolling versions of Netrunner feature KDE Plasma desktop. The latest 19.08 version features the Plasma 5.14.5 desktop, KDE Frameworks 5.54, and KDE Applications 18.08. Talking about the underlying Linux kernel, it’s powered by Linux 4.19. This version was released long back in October 2018. It was also one of the few kernel releases that were pushed by the long-time kernel developer Greg Kroah-Hartman, who took over Linus Torvalds’ role when he went on a break. As Netrunner aims to deliver an out-of-the-box experience to everyday computer users, you don’t need to install external codecs manually after the installation. Netrunner also features lots of useful and quality applications to make this experience even better. You get LibreOffice, GIMP, Krita, Inkscape, Kdenlive, GMusicbrowser, Yarock, Steam, etc., preinstalled. You can visit this link to get a complete list of applications and addons. From a visual point of view, Netrunner 19.08 comes with a darker blue and lighter blue theme that’s combined with a classic gray palette for a pleasant look. The changes have been made in accordance with the Breeze icon theme to establish a visual uniformity. Netrunner 19.08 System Requirements To install Netrunner 19.08 ISO on your computer, you need at least 1GB RAM, 10GB hard disk space, and 128MB graphics memory. The developers of the OS recommend at least 1200MB RAM if you’re going to test it in a virtual machine. You can go ahead and download the latest Netrunner 19.08 Indigo 64-bit ISO file from this link. Sylence
Beautiful? whoever wrote that article probably has never seen what Windows 10 looks like. that UI is awful, jesus. I don't know why Linux distro makers try to copy Windows 10's UI and make a rip off distro. and those system requirements are totally BS. 1GB of RAM, 10GB of HDD. yeah right, to do what exactly? just start the computer. to do any meaningful task the user would need a lot more than that. the guy just made a thin client, that's what it is. steven36
This was one the 1st distros i tested back in 2015 that's KDE it's a good OS for Linux Beginners it comes with steam and all that stuff. Back then it was based on Ubuntu now he based on Debian witch that's what Ubuntu is based on. I would recommend at lest 4 gb a ram to use KDE. He use to sell Linux PCs with his OS on it. Windows 10 is lifeless unless you buy windows blinds , Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 can be Themed but Windows 10 upgrades cause major theme breakage so they stop making patchers for it. . Any version of Linux can be Themed to look how ever you want they have there own forum dedicated to Themeing Linux. That's the difference in owning your OS you can do what ever you want too it . Than using and a Locked down closed source OS that that thinks they know best for you. https://old.reddit.com/r/unixporn/

Love it when Windows fanboys compliment any other OS. You started with the UI is awful followed closely by they are copying the Windows UI Windows is getting better but requiring 8GB just to run an OS isn't right. Windows itself is the container for the programs that run Regards

Windows runs fine with even 2 GB, X64 1903., it's the 3rd party programs that are getting more hungry. get your facts right before calling others fanboys lmao ;) 2. the UI is crappy yes, because they are trying to mimic Windows 10's UI but they fail so bad that it's awful and cringy. 3. the RAM usage is a global thing, the smartphones, tablets, every OS and device is getting more RAM. phones right now have twice as much RAM as they did 2 years ago. the fact that you only talk about one side of the story, specially the one that suits your agenda, is just sad.
