Actually it was the playback of every one video file! The playback was broken! They are still damaging the whole player. :)

Which 'alternative/other player/not broken player' would you recommend then?

Under win, like/use zoomplayer and mpc-hc, used potplayer but got annoyed by its way to keep calling home, ended with smplayer. Would be my config, rather low volume when playing movies.

Under linux, the default xplayer is fine but moved to vlc. Did not try smplayer yet there.

Web developers recommend VLC 2.x and my experience is same. I am staying on latest VLC 2.2.8 - the only stable version before destroy.

No trace of the v2.8 :dunno: Maybe you're speaking about the VLC 2.2.8?

That was before they patched all the 0 days that are  in versions older than  3.0.7 If you get hacked we will know why then . :clap: They a 100 players for Windows  if you have problems with this player like i do, why not just switch? Most any of them work better than this set of bugs they call a video player .:lmao:

@steven36:

Yes, that is a big concern!

@BTJB:

Another bug in v3.0.7.1 is HTTP proxy URL not working; fine in v2.2.8 with same config.

June 11 2019, when I installed 3.0.7.1 it gave me a Blue Screen of Death. Install Froze, Powered off, Restart BSOD. Re-power/Restart back to normal. Not happy VLC did not test or warn, if you get a BSOD, don't worry.

My first BSOD in over 18 months, congrats VLC.

Hi

192.168.x.x:808 (config. for v2.x)

http://192.168.x.x:808 (config. for v3.x)

Now HTTP proxy URL is working with v3.0.7.1. They changed it, you have to add http://
