[Solved] best cpu at good price for P7 P55D LE socket 1156

Hello everyone,

 

i have a friend who has motherboard P7 P55D LE socket 1156 and a intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 530 @ 2.93GHz cpu

and he would like to replace the current cpu by a new one more powerful which is compatible with his motherboard socket 1156.

 

so could you please recommand a very good cpu for him ?

i have to specify that he has a modest budget, he would like to get one which costs between 50 and 100 euros.

Asus lists the CPUs that are supported for this motherboard on their site.  https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P7P55D_LE/HelpDesk_CPU/

 

These are old CPUs so your choice would be limited to what is available.  The fastest is the core i7-880 which is selling for $100 USD on Ebay.  There are some core i7-870 cpus on Amazon for slightly less.  Just depends on what you can find on sites you prefer to buy from.
