info999
so in the past few days my VPS upload speed to gdrive was at 20KB/s I was stumped, no idea what was going on, then I got the idea that may be IP was banned, I was right ! Using VPN the upload speed is much faster I googled but I could not find anyone having similar issue. What gives ?
tiliarou
It depends how you used your VPS to reach gdrive... There is a 750gb limit as far as I know. If you continue requesting or sending data once you passed that limit, you can end up getting throttled or banned. It could also be a DNS or routing issue beyond your control which would affect your speed but not the VPN as it is using differente route. What were you doing exactly to get throttled at 20KB/s ? Rclone/rsync ?

tiliarou
https://support.cloudhq.net/google-team-drive-technical-specifications-and-limitations/ https://support.google.com/a/answer/172541?hl=en "For each account or Team Drive, the maximum individual file size that you can upload or sync is 5 TB. After you've uploaded 750 GB in 1 day, you'll be blocked from uploading additional files that day. Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides have different size limits" This is valid for non team drive as well. If your upload script spammed gdrive servers after reaching the 750gb, you might get throttled (this is my interpretation, but it might be a totally different issue for the OP, since reaching 750gb of upload in one day is quite hard for many)
