how to find out where a software stores the information about used documents

R Wipe & Clean has a option to clean

 

 

but there can not be all software listed that you have installed. For example in this picture the FastStone Image Viewer is listed but not the FastStone Capture that also has a list of used documents (pictures) that is not listed. If you want to clean a special program trace you can use the Wipe List function to create a own wipe list but you have to know where this information is stored.

 

I am pretty sure that this information is not always stored in the same place. Software # 1 stores this information in the registry and software # 2 for example  in AppData which raises the question of how to find the respective storage location?
